I ran RSSNROT1 using SE38 to make corrections to the number range. Then assigned the group using the
Assign Element/Group button and clicked on the group number 01 in the pop up screen. This program was
run in EWM for any number range corrections. Once this was run I had to recreate the group, assign the
number range and then assign the group. The number range was then assigned correctly to the group in the
subsequent configuration screen.

Sasidhar,
Need urgent help. I have created a number range for inspection documents. I have created a group as well.
In the configuration for assign number range to inspection documents I just see 01 and nothing in the column
next to it. The drop down is greyed out.
I also see the number range group is not assigned to the number range. Can you please let me know how this
is done in QIE configuration. I need this for PROD manual configuration.
Thanks

All,
I am trying to create an inspection in ECC from EWM QIE . I get the following message in the RFC queue:
Program cannot be executed, inspection type is not filled
Inspection lot cannot be created for inspection document 4....70
This is for (IOT-4)
I have the inspection rule set up , inspection document is in status QI02,QI10. The Goods Receipt has been
done for one HU.
How do I clear this message from the rfc queue. I have assigned the inspection type 1702 to the QM view of
the material master. What is the best way to get the stock cleared from 1 Q if this does not work.
Thanks

Hello all,
I have a quick question. Did anybody work with allowing inspection stock to be shipped?
I have insp object type 017 active in ECC, I was able to ship the stock in EWM while a inspection document is
open. These all worked out nicely. Only snag I ran into is preventing stock with inspection document open to
go to customer while at the same time allowing it for STO only. The setting for allowing stock with inspection
document open to be shipped is at IOT level. I know I can use badi to check for inspection doc status during
picking but I am trying to find if there is any standard way to handle this. Your input will be appreciated.

All,
I had a question on IOT 4 Product/Batch. I am doing Goods Receipt inspection for a Production Order which
generates a batch using SCWM_GRPI. When I pack the HU it creates an inspection document for every HU. I
wanted to understand how I can get multiple HU's in one inspection document. I noticed a setting for Inspection
Control in the inspection rule. Iam using one inspection document for the delivery item. Should I be using
option 1 Inspection Document for PO/Production item or 2 One Insp. doc for product batch - new document
after decision.
Kindly advise.

Sasidhar,
I've completed the setup which you have described and all is functioning as required. I've also integrated the
follow-up actions into the process and these are all working (e.g. Scrapping, Put away for Delivery), except the
"Stock Transfer to Different Warehouse" follow-up action. The need for these follow-up actions is based on our
usage of Advanced Returns Management.
During the decision process in EWM, when selecting the UD which is tied to "Stock Transfer to Different
Warehouse", a failure message appears with the following message: "Inspection document xxxxxxxxxxxxxx not
found", and then the transaction is terminated. I was wondering if you had completed any of the setup for this
specific follow-up action, and if there was any additional setup required.
I've seen text within the SAP documentation to be sure to include the STO receiving warehouse "business
partner". And through the menu path "Define Master Data of Follow-up Actions", I have maintained the
business partner here. However this does not alter the error message I am receiving in any way.

Sasidhar,
I have finally implemented the SAP note for the EWM inspection button in Partial UD which works now with the
system dialog for the RFC user. When I click on the EWM Inspection button I get a pop up screen which says
the following: Inspection stock does not exist in work center. The reply I got from SAP is as follows: Please
move physical stock into a work center bin. Inspection is only possible in the work center.
Which transaction should I use to get this done in EWM.
Thanks

Hi Anup
When you post GR, inspection document will be generated in EWM. So, you should have HUs already before
posting GR. If you are not having HUs in inbound delivery, pack goods into HUs and unload & Post GR. This
way you can inspect HUs with IOT4.
At header level, you don't have filter on Batch since batch is not in IOT properties. But at item level you can use
the batch (check node define item type).
You may want to initiate internal inspection, use IOT5.

Is there a way to inspect by batch and HU for an inbound delivery?

You need to implement QIE_EX_COMMUNICATION in EWM. Refer note: 1278425.
Installation name should match business system name. Check RFC destination assigned to Logical system.
IMG --> EWM --> Cross process settings --> QM --> Basics --> Assign RFC destination to Logical system.

When you define external QM system installation, do you need to assign XI business system? I have

When I do GR for inbound delivery, I always got the error /SCWM/QINSP095: Unable to determine RFC
destination for QM connection; check Customizing.
Only when I set business system and external QM system to the logical system ERDCLNT001, I did not get the
error.
Although the business system has a logical system assigned which is identical to the installation, the system
compares the installation with business system instead of the logical system. It seems this logic only applies to
the integration with QM, for other ERP integration, we can set business system freely.

Hi Sasidhar/Anybody,
I did the QM setup with IOT 4, normally if we want to split the quantity during QM decision , we need to create 1
HU for Accepted and 1 HU for rejected @ QM work center then in QM document we could enter the quantity at
element level with split quantity (Ex 2 EA accepted, 3 EA rejected). Is that right?
Can we take QM decision from RFUI for the IOT 4 or RFUI supports only specific IOT?
When i tried to take decision RFUI with IOT 4, the results are stored wrongly in QM doc.
Please let me know the steps required to take QM decision from RFUI.

SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM): Configure Quality Inspection in EWM - Step by Step
process
1. Question on moving the stock to QI for example from EWM. You mentioned the inspection rule needs to be
activated for this to happen. Is this by setting the NST drop down value for QQ(Stock in Quality Inspection).
How do you make separate HU's for accepted or blocked stock in EWM. Is there a special transaction for doing
that?It would be helpful if you could send me the transaction code and configuration required to do a partial
UD.
2. We are using EWM for warehouse operations. I will check the scenario for incoming certificates in ECC with
the EWM interface and get back to you.
3. We will be posting GR for Production Order from EWM. So I believe I will have to use inspection type 17 for
that. Thanks for your help

Thank you very much.

Sasidhar Gupta in response to Anup Pant on page 28
Aug 11, 2014 7:22 PM
Hi Anup
1. Yes, use inspection type 17. In EWM inspection rule setup, you can mention whether stock should be posted
to QI or not. No setting required in ECC.
In ECC, you can only take decision like Accepted/Rejected. Same will be updated in EWM. Based on follow up
actions configured for this decision stock posting will be done in EWM and update sent to ECC. Partial User
decisions are only for recording purpose only. Ultimately we can do only two things either accept or reject.
So, make sepearate HUs for accepted & blocked stock, assign the code to it. In this way stock status will be
updated as desired.
2. Are you using ECC or EWM for warehouse operations? However since inspections are different for EWM
managed or LE-WM managed operations, there should not be any problem. Sorry, I am not good in ECC can't
provide more details on it.
3. If you are posting GR from EWM then use inspection type 17 or otherwise use internal inspection type.

Stock or to Blocked Stock. I see the follow up actions to be configured in EWM. How does that work? How are
partial UD's done using the EWM- ERP interface?
2. If iam receiving material using an inbound delivery for a purchase order can I still use the incoming quality
certificate functionality with the EWM ECC interface? In ECC an incoming quality certificate gets created on
Goods Receipt of the Purchase Order by activating the control key in the QM view of the Material Master and
viewed using QC55.
3. I will doing quality inspection at the time of Goods Receipt of a Production Order. With EWM setup do I need
to use inspection type 17 or can I still use the ECC inspection type of 04?

Thanks for your help with this. I hope this gives you a better understanding of my requirement

Hi Anup
Please see my replies below
Q: I had a question on the inspection type to be maintained in ECC in conjunction with EWM. I am assuming
we will have to use inspection type 17.
A: Inspection type 17 is for external system initiated inspections. Since we initiate inspection in EWM, we need
to use inspection type 17 when we are doing QI checks using EWM & ERP.
Q:I will be using incoming inspection as well as in process inspection . Do I have to use the inspection type 17
for both types of inspection.
A: Please add more details what do you mean by incoming inspections and in process inspections. If you are
referring incoming inspections as EWM triggered inspection lots and in process inspections as ECC triggered
inspection lots then you'll have different inspection types.
Q: Can I create variants of the inspection type 17 with different number ranges for incoming inspection e.g
Z01 and in process inspection like Z04 with the number range 170000000000 to 17999999999 or can I have
different number ranges for each.
A: Please clarify above for better understanding of your scenario.

Hi Danny,
Apparently there is no buttons to activate/deactivate the rule. At the same time we can't advice you to delete
the rule unless we know what level the rule is being maintained in your system and what level you don't want

QI doc. Rule can be created for single product or all products or specfic document type level or item type level
and etc.
So try to understand your system rule setup in this transaction and make a decision accordingly.
If the rule is created at just a product level and you don't want QI document for that specific product then the
only option is to delete that record.

Thanks

Hi Sasidhar,
When you say deactivate inspection rule for a material, do you mean "delete"? In /N/SCWM/QRSETUP I
cannot find activate/deactivate button, there is delete button, is this what you mentioned?
Thanks
Danny

Hi Danny
Yes, but you must be careful while setting up inspection rules to make sure other rules will not generate
inspection document for this material.
Thanks

Hi Sasidhar,
If I can activate/deactivate inspection rule for materials, then my requirement can be fulfilled. Just to confirm:
if inspection rule is deactivated for a material, then inspection document & inspection lot will not be created,
right? that means GR can be done freely as well as putaway, and no more quality inspection is involved?

Danny

Hi Danny
As Ganesan said first check how you wanted to setup inspection lot creation. We don't have activation period
for inspection in EWM. Either you can de-activate inspection for entire warehouse or make use of inspection
rules to activate for required materials.
Thanks

Hi Danny,
Basically the inspection rule decides the inspection document creation in EWM,
Please execute /SCWM/QRSETUP to check @ what level inspection setup is done, if its done at material level
and you deactivate in this transaction system would not generate any QI document in EWM.
You could activate again whenever you want QI document in EWM.
Thanks,
Ganesan

Dear Sasidhar,
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Do you know how to configure inspection skip in EWM? i.e. if I dont want
inspection document and inspection lot to be created in a certain time period, how to achieve this? In ERP we
have quality info record to control this, but this has no control in the case of EWM and QM integration.

Danny

Sasidhar,
Thanks for the inputs. I found out the fields to be mapped in EWM.
The transaction code is /SCWM/QRSETUP
Quality Inspection Group
Product
Doc. Type
Procedure
Rule Group
Group

Kindly let me know if there is anything else I need to add

Thanks

Hi Anup
QIG need to be entered in material, warehouse execution view. It is 4 character field.
SAP ERP IMG > Integration with Other SAP Components > Extended Warehouse Management > Additional
Material Attributes > Attribute Values for Additional Material Master Fields > Define Quality Inspection Group
Thanks

Sasidhar,
Thank you very much for this post. This was very helpful.
I had one more question. The Quality Inspection Group has a 4 digit nomenclature in EWM QIE. ECC has an 8
digit identifier.

e.g if I have an ECC Inspection Plan Group as APZ000001 , then the EWM Inspection Group will have to be
APZ0? or APZ*.
Also, if I am converting Inspection Plans in ECC for which I have a conversion template with fields from the
tables PLKO, PLPO, MAPL, PLMK.
What inspection plan conversion template do I need for QIE in EWM? Will it include the Inspection Group? or
are there other fields to be considered.
Any information will help.
Thank you
