found at Lee home (demolished). Stone was then moved to Grays Lane and later donated to

Description: Cemetery opened in July 2003. Paved roads throughout with hand pumps for water.
Upright markers are granite and all look the same. Flush markers are bronze plaques and are all
identical. Metal fence. On-site office.

Description: Located 100-200 yards SW of the end of paved Brown Church Road. See map in
file. A few fieldstone markers found (approximately 6). Two old cedar trees and perwinkle
ground cover. Very overgrown with briars.
Comments: There is a marker on the ground on the south side of the road for the church
building. The cemtery is about 1/3 mi further to the east.

Description: Gravesite not located. Ms. Williamson at 5401 Riggs Road (granddaughter of
previous owners, Roberts) says it was by the hay barn (now demolished). Current owner of 25
years has not found any stones.
Comments: 1 stone for a child named Merrick was there in the 1980s and 4 stones were there in
the 1880s. Current owner buried ashes of parents under willow tree by fenceline: Jacob Glassman
1899-1982 and Frances Feder Glassman 1905-1998.

Description: Cemetery is approximately 35' x 56' Stones are mostly marble with one field stone.
Most have footstones. Two flower urns & the two largest stones marked Sisson, Balt. (monument
maker). Two obelisks. Stone fence with iron fence on top of it.
Comments: Located on a high hill overlooking meadow & Hawlings River. Owners are having
cemetery restored by conservator Robert Mosko as closely to original as possible. Owners are
descendants of people in cemetery.
Description: Located in stand of trees in plowed field north (right) of 27110 Purdum Road. Two
upright stones located, 1 overturned slate, and lots of fieldstones.
Comments: More stones were found in 2003. At that time, owners said family used to visit
annually, but no longer do. See file for transcriptions.

Description: Three stones legible - all broken. Lots of other slate stones propped up around dead
tree stump. Not sure where actual graves are. Stone of Sarah E. Moxley 1807-1877 and Ezekiel
Moxley died 1869 in his 67th year
Comments: Associated with George Moxley House (MP10/6) or John Moxley House (10/3).
Description: No longer extant. Was located behind Shoppers Food Warehouse. Col. Richard
Brooke (Rev War) was buried near the house Fair Hill on quarter acre burial plot reserved in later
deeds. Fair Hill burned in 1977.
Comments: Grave marker was missing, but was returned to community from the Baltimore area.

Description: Will specified that William Brewer was to be buried on property where deceased
son Camillus and two others were already buried. Farquhar says William & Mary are at old
Monocacy Cem. Monocacy records indicate Camillus moved also.

Description: Cemetery is SE of house adjacent to former entrance drive up from Whites Ferry
Rd. Some stones upright, some overturned. Within new wood picket fence erected by current
owners. Previous owners let cows graze among stones.
Comments: All stones look similar w/carved tops and matching footstones. Most are completely
illegible. Transcription on file.

Description: No longer visible. According to past resident of Greenwood, there was a slave
cemetery on the hill about 300 feet east of the barn. According to current owner, there is a new
house on the location where the cemetery is supposed to be.
Comments: At one time, Greenwood was one of the largest slave-owning plantations in
Montgomery County with about 100 slaves

Description: Possibly a family gravesite; currently no residence nearby. Driveway w/chain fence
& rubble. Granite stone 6" high with initials"M.E." and 1 other stone (footstone?) found about 10
feet from road.

Mt. Calvary members-Pastor Allen Williams, Charles Bacon.

Description: Located on left side of auto parts property along fenceline. Only two markers;
transcriptions in file. Auto parts stored all around markers. Dumping of tires, landscaping
material. Very poor condition.

fencing. Path is down wooden steps from church parking lot. A sign says the burial site was in
use from 1818 to 1940, but headstones are from 1881 to 1954.
