The time for the mark ‘X’ to disappear from sight is taken. The experiment is repeated
using the different concentration of sodium thiosulphate solution. Diagram 1 shows the
stopwatch readings for the experiment.

2 A student carried out an experiment to construct the electrochemical series using the For

principle of displacement of metals. A zinc strip is dipped into copper(II) sulphate, Use
CuSO4 solution. The set-up of apparatus for the experiment is shown in figure below.

Acid shows its acidic properties only in the presence of water but cannot
show its acidic properties in organic solvent.
