Summary of The Journey of being an entrepreneur presentation by Gurbaksh Chahal
Gurbaksh Chahal shared his tips and trick on how to become a success entrepreneur. In
his presentation he stated that to become an entrepreneur is not easy, because in entrepreneurship
is not always up but sometimes it will go down like a roller coaster it has ups and downs but it
depends on how we handle it.
If we want to become a success entrepreneur, we have to believe that anything is
possible. Do not afraid to take a risk, just focused on want we want to reach. The important one
is we have to be smart and creative in taking an opportunity that may people see it as an
impossibility.
Gurbaksh Chahal stated that to begin a business we have to have three main steps, there
are: Step one is ambition, step two is discipline, and step three is purpose. He stated that to
become an entrepreneur we have to realize opportunities, make an innovation, and create
something new and then we can make our ownership. He gave a quote by Charles Darwin that
stated ; Its is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most. Most intelligent that
survives. Is the one that is the most adaptable to change. It is clear that to defend a business we
have to be adaptable to change means that we have to always try to make an innovation and take
any opportunities to take customers interest and defend our business.
Some examples of business that cannot defend are Kodak, blueberry, blockbuster,
MySpace, and AOL, they all did not innovate and bankruptcy because they were defeated by
their competitors.
Becoming an entrepreneur we have to pay attention on:
1. Idea and Action, the truth that some of the most successful companies are copycats of an
idea that already exists. 99% of is it all pure execution. So, it is clear that innovation is the
best action to reach the success.
2. Keep the Blinders Off, it means we have to be open to change and take the blinders off.
Look around. Dont be afraid to go off on all sorts of unusual directions, since thats where
you might just find the most unusualand promisingopportunities.
3. Valuation is built by Scarcity, it means the biggest deals are when Companies are not sold
but when Companies are bought. Companies that are sold are normally being taken over as
a distressed asset and usually are a steal or there is underlying multiple behind it. (Sales,
Profit, etc.), 9 out of 10 times Companies that are bought they are bought for emotion
(scarcity value). Thats where revenue and profit dont necessarily need to equate to a certain
multiple.
4. Hire Only Rock stars, it means that we have to find only the top quality one. We have to
hire the smartest people you can find. Find that 1 person that does the power of 10. Dont be

frugal. Find the right people for the right jobs, and pay them what theyre worth. We all love
and need rock stars.
5. Never Keep Yourself Vulnerable, it means that Never make someone have control of
something in your business that can make you vulnerable. Consider everyone replaceable. If
you dont youll end up in an unexpected situation where your destiny will no longer be in
your hands.
6. Asking for Help, it means don't expect help from others until you realize you can give
them something. The business world is primitive and its about what you can do for then. If
you dont bring anything to the party dont expect any charity from someone to do a favor.

7. Need vs. Necessity, we have to understand the distinguishes between need and necessity.
Because People will ONLY be impressed by is your performance, absolutely nothing else.
8. Exterior Stereotypes, means tha we have to be confident on what we want to do to get what
we want to reach.
9. Relationships, it means that we have to keep in touch with the customers and with other
organizations. They can help us to build our business, because relationships are everything in
the life and most importantly business world.
10. The Hunger, means that dont get satisfied whether you are in the top of success. If you
learn this early on, success will repeat itself.
11. Embrace Rejection, it means that dont give up, just try and try to reach the success. If you
rejected on something dont give up, just keep going on and it will make you stronger.
12. Negotiation & Perception, Become the thing people want and show them what they want
to see and tell them what they want to hear. Just believe in yourself and sell the dream. No
product is perfect no sales pitch is perfect. Only opportunity is.
13. Thick Skin, it means that we have to be a thick skin to Grow a thick skina very thick
skin. People will question your ability to succeed, and the loudest among them might make
you doubt your own talents, so youll need a thick skin to drown out the noise. The silence
will help you focus on your objective, and you will prevail.
From the explanation above, in making a success business, Gurbaksh Chaha wants us to
do the work. Keep our eye on the tiger. Fight like hell. Defy the odds. Its worth it. It means that
always tries and tries to get what we want to reach, never get satisfied whether we are in the top
of success, still focus on the goal and keep going to get what we want to get in making a success
business. Never compromise your morals, never forget where you came from, and never forget
where you want to go.
