Summary of book
Francis Schaeffer is a theologian, Presbyterian pastor and philosopher was born 30 th
of January 1912. The biography tells us about his life and his experiences. He was
born in Germantown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the biography was set in the
1900s. He lived most of his life in Humoz-sur-Ollon, Vaud, Switzerland. He lived
during very tough times as during the time that he lived there was world war I and
world war II which are one of the biggest political conflicts the world has ever seen.
Francis Schaeffer was married to Edith Seville Schaeffer who was the daughter of
missionary parents in 1935. He had 4 kids which are named Priscilla Sandri, Susan
Macaulay, Deborah Middelmann and Frank Schaeffer. Schaeffer graduated from
magna cum laude from HampdenSydney College, after he graduated from collage
he enrolled in a theological course at Westminster Theological Seminary. He then
later changes place of study to Faith Theological Seminary, graduating in 1938. He
then later became a Presbyterian Pastor He served pastorates in Pennsylvania and St.
Louis, Missouri.
He was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Highland College in
Long Beach, California. In 1971, he received an honorary Doctor of Letters degree
from Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts. In 1982, John Warwick Montgomery
nominated Schaeffer for an honorary Doctor of Laws degree, which was conferred in
1983 by the Simon Greenleaf School of Law, Anaheim, California in recognition of his
apologetic writings and ministry.

Personal Reaction
I personally felt that this book was a very inspirational book as it walks us through
the life of Francis Schaeffer. His life was full of inspiration and life lessons to learn
from. I found this book to be inspirational as I felt like that I can take away so much
things from this book. I felt emotional as well as that I felt that god had a plane for
him all the way and he is a truly blessed man that people should learn from in years
to come.
This book made me contemplate and think about what god has chosen for me and if
im going down the right path or not. This book also made me think about the way
that life is and how you can either embrace it or just waste it.
I related to this biography as I am a very strong Christian just like Francis Schaefer
and that I follow the word of god like him and also how I strongly belief that you can
do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
