Texas History Scavenger Hunt Scrapbook

This year, All Fourth Grade classes will take part in a year long Texas Scavenger Hunt! The collected items should
be collected and displayed in some sort of scrapbook (you can purchase an actual scrapbook and decorate it, you
can put it in a 3 ring binder, glue into a spiral notebook, use their interactive social studies notebook, etc.), which
will be updated throughout the year. The goal is to collect as many items as possible. Each item has a designated
point value. Your goal is to try to get at least 100 points. You can earn additional points for extra credit and
creativity! (150-point max). Some of these items are easy to find and may even be found at school. Others may
require a little extra effort or traveling for an onsite visit. I will accept visits that have taken place in the last
year or so- please no older than Summer 2015. You may work on the project at home or during free time at school.
I will check your progress every 9 weeks to verify that you are working steadily. Since you will receive a grade
each 9 weeks, you should attempt to get 25 points (or more) per grading period. However, I understand the first
one you might have less since there isnt as much time.
The due dates for grading are as follows:
1st 9 weeks: October 7, 2016
2nd 9 weeks: December 9, 2016
3rd 9 weeks: March 3, 2017
FINAL DUE DATE: May 27, 2017
I cant wait to see all of the exciting things you find out about our wonderful state of Texas!
Sincerely,
Fourth Grade ELA/SS Teachers
