Novozymes products for the textile industries (hereafter the products) are processing aids. The products are
neither textile nor active products (e.g. biological active products) as defined in Oeko-Tex standard 100, i.e.
the Oeko-Tex standard is NOT applicable to enzyme products used in the textile production.

In the process of the product, the chemical substances listed in Appendix 5 of Oeko-Tex standard 100 are
not added.

The products are produced by the same processes as the ones used for the food industry. We therefore
assume that the level of heavy metals is the same.

The limits for enzyme used in the food industry:

Heavy metal

max. 30 ppm

Lead

max. 5.0 ppm

Arsenic

max. 3.0 ppm

Cadmium

max. 0.5 ppm

Mercury

max. 0.5 ppm

Considering the enzyme is only used as processing aids in textile production with small dosage, we dont
expect the heavy metal content of enzyme products will contribute to the violation of the final textile products
against Oeko-Tex standard class I.
