Synopsis

: FLUID MECHANICS provides the fundamentals of fluid mechanics principles


related to the fluid properties and behavior in static and dynamic situations.
This course also exposes the experiments in fluids mechanics applications.

Topic 1 :

FLUID AND PROPERTIES


Explain fluid characteristics, apply types of pressure and apply physical
properties of fluid.

Topic 2 :

FLUID STATICS
Show relationship between pressure and depth, apply the concept of Pascals
Law into hydraulic jack, apply concept of piezometer, barometer and
manometer, explain the concept of bourdon gauge and apply the concept of
buoyancy.

Topic 3 :

FLUID DYNAMICS
Describe the different types of flow, describe flow rate, apply continuity
equation and apply Bernoulli theorem.

Topic 4 :

ENERGY LOSS IN PIPELINES


Explain the round pipe system, apply the types of head loss and apply head loss
in pipeline systems.

Topic 5 :

PRACTICAL
Perform experiments and write appropriate report related to fluid mechanics on
physical properties of fluid, fluid static, Bernoulli theorem and flow
measurement.
