Describe the school in terms of its


demographics, appearance and
resources (be general here and
do not name the school).

Classroom: is colour full filled with posters, There are


different sections in the room E.g. reading corner, home
corner etc.
The classroom has a lot of numbers colours, alphabet on
the walls.
The library is small but good use of space.

What were the roles and


responsibilities of the teaching
staff you observed?

The roles of the teaching staff were that they look after
students and to educate them.
The teachers work together with everyone to give the
students the best of their ability.
The teacher looks and keeps students safe.

What did you observe nonteaching staff doing to support


teaching and learning in the
school?

Non-teaching staff likes the administration to a lot of work in


the front office. They are the first people e that visitors or
parents meet during school hours.
The EAS are huge help to the teacher they get all the work
and sheets prepared for the students activities help the
students with extra work or whatever the teacher requires of
them.

There are certain polices that in place that need to be


followed when the teacher design her plans for the year.
It underlines what the teacher first plan, and influences
her set up.
Teacher has a clipboard by the door in case of
emergencies and writes absent kids names on it.
For safety reasons there is a pick up list for parent to pick
up students.
Has a parent teacher meeting at the start of the year with
all parent and set boundaries and expectations for the
year.

They support the diversity in the class is huge. The


students are grouped in ability groups for literacy,
numeracy and writing. They have an EAs are there to
support the teacher and also help the students who need
extra help.

The school does recycling program with a company where


they help safe the environment. They have a worm bucket.
They have a mentoring program where seniors come to
school and mentor the kids.
They have app that is designed to communicate with both
the community and also parents.
The P&C consists of parents and teachers, and they do
community events and also do stalls for special events.
The function of school is for kids to learn as much as they
can to develop social skills for the future.
For them to learn more about academic skill for the future
when they go to university and also for them to learn about
life skills.
For students to have different experiences.
Yes there is a lot of work that goes into being a teacher
and also being a good role model for the student. But after
the week in high school I have decided that teaching
primary school is the right career choice for me.
