SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

This chapter presents the summary, conclusions drawn from the findings
and the recommendations based on the findings of the study.
Summary of Findings
The thesis, THE LANGUAGE SKILLS OF FRESHMEN STUDENTS IN
BACHELOR OF ARTS MAJOR IN FOREIGN SERVICE was undertaken for the
articulation of English Literacy of Foreign Service students and seeks to
establish a theoretical foundation English literacy that conserve as a platform for
further research. It seeks to address the current educational climate that sees the
proficiency of the students as a check list of behaviors, dispositions, measures,
and standards, and to articulate the essential but elusive aspect of English
literacy.
1. What are the factors behind the lack of proficiency in language skills of
some freshmen students?
2. What are the steps or measures needed to improve the language skills of
the students concerned?

3. On which particular skills are the students best at and where are they
most struggling at?
CONCLUSION
Based on the foregoing findings the following conclusion was drawn:
1. Based on the research study that was conducted, all of the respondents
show that they are good in terms of the four language skills: Reading,
Writing, Listening, and Understanding
2. Out of the 4 language skills, writing is the most common skill of Foreign
Service Students and Speaking is the most difficult skill for them.
3. Application and implementation of learning can help in the improvement
on ones English literacy.
RECOMMENDATION
The following recommendations are herein offered:
To the Teachers and Professors,
This research study can be used as a basis for effective teaching
strategies and methods that will be applied in their class; in addition to that, they

can become aware of the weaknesses and strength of students in terms of


English literacy
To the Parents,
Through this research study can help parents to identify the weaknesses
and strength especially those who finds it difficult in terms of english proficiency,
and help them to improve their English literacy.
To the Students,
With the help of this study, students will be informed on how they should
act in order to improve their English literacy.
To the Future Researchers,
This Research Study can be used as a basis for further and deep
understanding about language literacy of students.
