Fact #1:
Both aerobic and non-aerobic exercises have the same anxiety-reducing
capabilities.
Personal Input/Opinion:
On page 339, the authors describe how their hypothesis that that there is no
difference in the levels of anxiety between groups participating in aerobic OR
non-aerobic exercise like Tai Chi. Both group experiences the same lower levels
of anxiety regardless of which activity they were performing.

Personal Input/Opinion:
Exercise helps people cope with stress by elevating mood and self-esteem and
by re-focusing energy, but it does not have any effect on the frequency or
severity of daily hassles. The authors cite multiple other articles that reinforce
the findings that exercise by itself has a limited usefulness for large-scale stress
management. (Pg. 340)

Regular routines are the most beneficial recreation methods for improving
health.
Personal Input/Opinion:
Repeating healthy activities so they become a part of everyday life help
reinforce the benefits of the activity. Regular outdoor recreation helps prevent
poor health and reduces the risk of disease. Even simply walking helps manage
weight, controls blood pressure and cholesterol, and alleviates depression as
listed on page 5.
