PRACTICAL WORK 3: AMPLIFIER

(PLO4; CLO2)
1.0 AIM
1. To analyze and understand the operation of Amplifier using transistor circuit.
2.0 OUTCOMES
At the end of the session the students will be able to:1. Determine and sketch input and output waveform for amplifier
2. Determine the input and output voltage for Amplifier
3. Determine the voltage gain for Amplifier

THEORY
4.1WHAT IS AMPLIFIER?
Amplifier is an electronic device that increases the power of a signal. An
amplifier is a circuit that contains the amplifying device, such as a Transistor,
Field Effect Transistor or Op-amp, with the output signal being much greater
than that of the input signal.
4.2 AMPLIFIER GAIN
Amplifier gain is simply the ratio of the output divided-by the input.

There are three different kinds of amplifier gain which can be measured;
i.
Voltage Gain (Av)
ii.
Current Gain (Ai )
iii.
Power Gain (Ap)
