Name of problem Fresh install of System Manager 6.3 GA template after October 5th 2014 and Fresh install of System Manager
6.3 GA VMWare OVA after February 25th 2015 will result in installation failure.
Products affected
Avaya Aura System Manager: Release 6.3 GA System Platform based template and VMWare OVA
Avaya Aura Solution for Midsize Enterprise 6.2.2 only applicable for System Platform template.
Problem description
Fresh install of Avaya Aura System Manager 6.3 GA template using System_Manager_06_03.iso after October 5th 2014 will
result in a failure since the built in certificate are valid until October 5th 2014.
Similarly Fresh install of Avaya Aura System Manager 6.3 VMWare OVA using SMGR-6.3.0.8.5682-e50-64.ova after February
25th 2015 will result in a failure since the built in certificate are valid until February 25th 2015.
This PSN is applicable for both System Platform and VMWare based System Manager Fresh install.
This will also impact fresh install of Avaya Aura Solution for Midsize Enterprise 6.2.2 template after October 5th 2014.
Note: System Platform based System Manager upgrade using the System Manager template is not impacted however you should be
using the new files for performing the upgrade.
Resolution
For Fresh install of System Platform based System Manager 6.3 GA Template use the file mentioned below
Use System_Manager_06_03_Version_II.iso for installation. (PLDS Download ID: SMGR6310007)
For Fresh install of VMWare based System Manager 6.3 GA OVA use the file mentioned below.
Use SMGR-6.3.0.8.5682-e50-68.ova for installation. (PLDS Download ID: SMGR6310008)
Workaround or alternative remediation
Workaround for Fresh install of System Manager 6.3 GA as a part of Avaya Aura Solution for Midsize Enterprise 6.2.2
template installation.
Note: Do not under any circumstance use any files from System_Manager_06_03_Version_II.iso for Midsize Enterprise. The install
will fail. The corresponding files for Midsize Enterprise are being worked upon and this PSN will be updated once its ready. Until
then please use the workaround mentioned below.
Follow the steps below to install System Manager 6.3 GA Release:
1. Change the system (current) date to October 4th 2014 through Avaya Aura System Platform web console.
a) Log on to Avaya Aura System Platform web console using admin.
b) Click on Server Management Date / Time Configuration.
c) Select Manually set date and time radio button.
d) Click [Calendar] icon.
e) Set date to October 4th 2014.
f) Click on [Apply].
g) Click on [Save] or [Save and Stop Ntpd] (if NTPD configured).
h) Press [OK] to confirm.
i) Wait for 5-10 minutes whilst the System reboots to apply the date / time changes.
2. Install the Avaya Aura System Manager 6.3 or Avaya Aura Solution for Midsize Enterprise 6.2.2 template as applicable.
3. Wait for the installation to complete.
4. Log on to System Manger web console using admin to confirm successful installation.

Note: You will be prompted to change the Admin user password on the first log on to System Manager Web console.
Change the system date to the current date through Avaya Aura System Platform web console.
a) Log on to Avaya Aura System Platform web console using admin.
b) Click on Server Management Date / Time Configuration.
c) If NTPD is to be configured:
Select Use NTP for date and time radio button.
Add Time Server as required
Select date to current date.
Click on [Save and Start Ntpd].
d) If NTPD is NOT to be configured:
Select Manually set date and time radio button.
Click [Calendar] icon.
Set date to current date.
Click on [Apply].
Click on [Save].
e) Wait for 5-10 minutes whilst the System reboots to apply the date / time changes.
Access the System Manager Web console using FQDN to confirm successful installation.
Note: After step 4, if the number of days between October 4th 2014 and current date is more than 90 days, then Admin user
password will expire in 90 days as per System Manager password expiry policy so reset the Admin user password prior to
log to System Manager Web Console.
Please refer below steps reset the Admin user password.
i.
Access the System Manager Web console as https://Sytem Manager FQDN/local-login
ii.
Login using CLI admin user credentials.
iii.
The request will redirect to password reset page.
iv.
Provide user id as Admin and provide new password.
v.
Click on save button to reset password.
vi.
Once the password is reset, click on Logout button to log out from session.
vii.
Access the System Manager web console as https://Sytem Manager FQDN/SMGR
viii.
Login to System Manager Web console using Admin user and with new password configured in step (d) above.
ix.
System Manager Web console will redirect to change password.
x.
Change the System Manager Password and login to web console successfully.
Note: Above steps must be completed successfully prior to performing any further actions on Avaya Aura System Manager
6.3 or Avaya Aura Solution for Midsize Enterprise 6.2.2 after fresh installation.
