Eachyear,InternationalDayofPeaceisobservedaroundthe
worldon21stSeptember.TheGeneralAssemblyhasdeclaredthis
asadaydevotedtostrengtheningtheidealsofpeace,bothwithin
andamongallnationsandpeoples.In1945,theUnitedNations
wasformedbasedupontheworldwidedesireforpeace.Thiscame
afterthemostdestructivewarinthehistoryofmankind,theWorld
WarII.Sinceitsinception,PeaceDayhasmarkedpersonaland
planetaryprogresstowardpeace.Overtheyears,ithasflourished
includingmillionsofpeopleacrosstheworld,commemoratingand
celeberatingthedaybyorganizingmanyeventstopromotepeace.

established in 1981 by
a resolution 36/67 of
the United Nations
General Assembly to
coincide with its
opening session every
September.

Mother Tersa
recieved the Nobel
Peace Prize in year
1979, "For work

which constitutes a
threat to peace."

Kailash Satyarthi
received the
Nobel Peace
Prize in year
2014, For his
pioneering work
on promoting
