me that he didn't see a reason why he should be alive. His mother and I spoke to him outside in the
backyard and tried to talk him to turn himself in to the police. George didn't agree or disagree but he
stated that he wanted to go inside and get something to drink and use the restroom. At that point I
felt it was a good idea to get _

Continuation, Narrative and Witness Statement

On September 11, 2007, I Det. Christopher Watkins attempted to interview Ms. Robbie Bell in
reference to the murder of Mary H. Spencer. I read Ms. Bell her Miranda Rights and she signed and
initialed a Miranda Rights Form acknowledging her Miranda Rights. Ms. Bell elected not to make a
statement without the presence of a lawyer. Ms. Bell's attorney was present at the time I attempted to
interview her and she still didn't give a statement. Ms. Bell then left headquarters with her attorney.
There is no further information to report at this time.

On 0911 1/07, Sgt. Eric SMITH was contacted by Deputy Chief Brent WINSTEAD and informed that P-4
officers were involved in a standoffwith a subject that may have committed a homicide at an unknown
address on Trawick Drive. I informed Chief WINSTEAD that I would be en route to that location along
with Lt. Joseph WADE and Sgt. Alfred COOPER. Prior to arriving at the Trawick location, Sgt. SMITH
made radio contact with Officer Donald BROOME, who stated that he was out at 4652 Trawick. I informed
Officer BROOME to standby until we arrived. Upon arriving at this location, Officer BROOME, informed
Sgt. SMITH that he door to the residence was unlocked. There was an unidentified WIM in the yard of this
location, wearing blue hospital scrubs, talking with Officer BROOME, giving Sgt. SMITII the impression
that he may have known the residents of this location. Sgt. SMITH, Sgt. COOPER and Officer BROOME
then entered the residence. Upon entering the residence, we were met by two small dogs, in the foyer of the
home. After viewing the hallway ofthe right side of the foyer, Sgt. Smith observed what appeared to be
patterns of blood cast off on a door. We then proceeded to this area and observed a large area of coagulated
blood on the floor. Two door to rooms, one to the left and one directly in our sight to the right were closed.
A bedroom down the hallway was opened. Sgt. SMIlli then pushed open the door to the right and observed
nothing in this room. The door to the left was then accessed and there lay the motionless body of an
unknown gender Caucasian individual. The light to the room was off, a large flashlight was seen on the bed.
The subject's body was covered with towels. The head ofthe individual appeared to be bloody, possibly
indicating this is where this individual sustained some time of trauma or injury. Sgt. SMITH then requested
the Crime Scene Search Unit as well as the Hinds County Coroner through police communications
dispatcher to respond to this scene as it was apparent that this was now a crime scene and that the individual
in the room was deceased. The remainder of the residence was check to determine if any other individuals
were present, however, no one else was present in the home. Sgt. SMITH then contacted Det. Derrick
JORDAN to respond to the scene to conduct the investigation.

www.jacksonjambalaya.com
American Medical Response personnel responded to the scene and did determine that the decedent
showed no signs of life. Paramedics removed the towels from the victim, exposing that she,was a WIF
wearing only a purple tank top styled shirt. The decedent was not wearing any undergarments. After
paramedics removed the towel from the decedent's head, it was then noted that the decedent had sustained
some type of head trauma. Inv. Eneke WILLIAMS arrived at the scene and ~as briefed by Sgt. SMIT~
regarding the findings within the residence. Det. JORDAN later arrived along with the coroner. Sharon
GRISHAM-STEWART. Based off the findings of the comer at the scene, itwas ~ ~ e death of
the decedent was being investigated as a homicide. Sgt. SMITH then remained at lhescen8~e "uu'Iitnt'[l 1the ~
investigation concluded. The victim was identified as Mary Heather SPENCER. SEP 1 t881

On September 11, 2007 at approximately 10:30 A.M., I, Sgt. Grant Parker received a call from
Sgt. Eric Wall to meet him on the east side of Highland Village. Upon arriving at Highland
Village, I spoke with Sgt. Wall who advised me that he had been flagged down by James Bell,
who advised him that he believes his nephew, George Bell Ill, had ki1led his girlfriend, Mary
Spencer, at 4652 Trawick Drive. George Bell had just left the house at 4652 Trawick Drive where
he had seen some blood on the floor in the house. George Bell stated that he had talked with
George Bell ill at the house in an effort to get him to tum himself in to police, but George Bell III
went back into the house and wouldn't leave. After Officers H. L. Bullock and Freddrick Samuel
arrived at Highland Village we were preparing to ride over to 4652 Trawick Drive when George
Bell received a calIon his cell phone from Robbie Bell, mother of George Bell lIT, who told
George Bell that George Bell III felt as if George Bell had called the police therefore Robbie Bell
and George Bell m were now riding around in her 2006 black Infiniti on Northside Drive near
Ridgewood Road. George Bell asked Robbie Bell to drive to the gas station at the comer of the
I-55 East Frontage Road and Northside Drive to meet with him. I then got into my patrol car and
as I started out ofthe north side ofthe Highland Village parking lot onto Northside Drive the
2006 black Infiniti, driven by Robbie Bell, with George Bell ill in the front passenger seat, drove
by me west bound on Northside Drive. I fell in behind the vehicle and gave the tag number to the
Precinct 4 dispatcher, as the vehicle pulled into the BP Station at the comer ofthe I-55 West
Frontage Road and Northside Drive, the dispatcher gave me the ownership information on the
vehicle, that being a 2006 black Infmiti G35, Tag number 164..H HV, listed to a R O. Bell at 4652
Trawick Drive. The vehicle pulled into the gas station next to the gas pumps facing east on the
east side ofthe parking lot. I pulled in behind the vehicle and exited my vehicle with my weapon
pulled and approached the trunk: ofthe vehicle. Officer H. L. Bullock had pulled his vehicle into
the lot north of my vehicle and on the drivers side ofthe black Infinite. The drivers door ofthe
Infiniti came open, but I could see that George Bell m had a hold of Robbie Bells right arm and
would not let her out of the vehicle, as well as holding a revolver of some type under his chin. I
told George Bell ill to let her go and after a few seconds he did let go of the arm ofRobbie BelL I
advised Robbie Bell to get the keys out ofthe ignition, which she did, but after getting her back to
my patrol vehicle it was learned that she left the keys inside of the vehicle. Sgt. Eric Wall and
Officer Freddrick Samuel then arrived on scene and took positions aro~. Dispatched
was advised at this time to
a hostage negotiator. Robbie Bell wara'Ekr~~Qi\\'1ctGeorge

The front door leads into an entry way with a dinning room on the south side. At
the end of the entry way was a hallway placed on the north side. This hallway

observed on the bed next to the complainant's body was collected at its noted
time. It appeared thatthe complainant's bodywas dragged into this bedroomfrom
the hallway. It appeared that there was not any blood on the lower portion of the
