Introduction
& FLEXIGOL
PEX pipes are produced by Golan Plastic Products Ltd, an industrial enterprise owned by
Kibbutz Shaar Hagolan.
Golan Plastic Product, started in 1960 as an extrusion plant and today it is one of the biggest
plastic products producers in the building sector in Israel. In 1975 Golan Plastic Products started
manufacturing hot water pipes made of polyethylene crosslinked by the Peroxide high pressure
Engel process. These pipes, sold under the name of PEXGOL, are now well-known for their quality
and reliability on the international market.
In 1991 Golan started manufacturing PEX-c pipes crosslinked by irradiation (electron beam).
In 1997 Golan started manufacturing a new multilayer pipe, sold under the name of MULTYGOL.
This pipe is a Pex pipe reinforced by aluminum layer.
In 2001 Golan started manufacturing a new multilayer pipe, sold under the name of FLEXIGOL.
This pipe is a PE-RT pipe reinforced by an aluminum layer.

Comparison with Other Plastic Pipes
MULTYGOL pipes are produced from a special type of polyethylene. This is a high density
polyethylene (HDPE) with a very high molecular weight.
After the manufacturing process is finished, the pipe is cross-linked by a hige energy electron beam.
resulting in an unbreakable (chemical) cross-connection between the adjacent long molecules of
the polyethylene. As a result of the crosslinking, a 3-dimensional network is formed and the pipe
can be considered as one enormously big molecule.
FLEXIGOL pipe are produced from PE-RT (Polyethylene of Raised Temperature Resistance)

Laser welding technology
The energy vector of this process is a light beam, in the near infrared range
of 1.06 ~m wavelength.This beam of highly focussed coherent light has an
extremely elevated power density, although its efficiency applied to aluminium
is very poor.In order to generate a laser beam of 2000 Watts,approximately
120 kW of power is required (cooling system included). When this beam hits
the surface of an aluminium sheet about only 200 W or 10% of the total beam's
power finally contributes to the melting operation. This very high reflection degree
is one of the major inconveniences of this process. It explains why aluminium
and its alloys are generally considered as having limited weld ability (steel, for
comparison sake only, reflects six times less).The resulting welding speeds for
an aluminium thickness range of 0.15 - 0.30 mm is up to 25 - 28 m/min.
Tig welding technology

TIG-welding belongs to the group of arc welding processes with a refractory electrode.
The energy vector is an electric arc of either AC or DC current type. For the DC type, the
negative pole is found on the tungsten electrode. The arc strikes by means of a high
frequency discharge without touching the work piece. The operating conditions set from
100 300 Ampere at a typical arc length of about 1 mm. The power level of such an arc is
situated from 2000 - 6000 W.
TIG welding must not overcome reflection problems. Therefore its energy efficiency is
significantly improved. The arc operates in an envelope of inert gas (helium, argon, or
an argon-helium mixture) so as to prevent oxidation of the molten aluminium and the
refractory electrode.
TIG - welding is performed without a filler metal. As the arc is lead over the seam edges
it initiates fusion and the melt pool solidifies in a homogenous weld seam.
Thanks to the introduction of newly developed high-performance power sources,
TIG-welding has become very attractive. It covers the full thickness range required
for multi-layer aluminium-plastic composite pipes.

Domestic water supply lines
Multygol & Flexigol pipes are the perfect plastic piping system for central
heating systems and sanitary pipes (hot and cold water pipes).
It is an excellent replacement for galvanized pipe in new projects
and in renovation projects as well.

UNDERFLOOR HEATING SYSTEMS (UFH)

How underfloor heating works
Underfloor heating works by circulating warm water from a heat
source (boiler) through pipes installed in the floor. Because the
emitting area is large, the warmth provided is quite sufficient
even on a cold winter day without the need for any extra heat
source.
The method suits all floor types (concrete or wood).
A New Level Of Comfort

Underfloor heating provides a kind of warmth that is more
natural and more comfortable than that of radiators. Underfloor
heating concentrates the warmth where we stand and sit. It
is hidden and it saves on fuel and maintenance costs.

It is essential to have separate room temperature control.
That way, the user can control the individual comfort
requirements of every room in the home, because every
room is different.
This way, unoccupied rooms can be adjusted to lower
temperature (or turned off) and save energy.
The rising copper price in the global market became
significant in the last few years. Using multilayer pipes
instead of copper pipes saves money and also saves the
need of soldering with dangerous equipment.
The perfect choice for UFH system

UNDERFLOOR HEATING
UFH systems are close-circuit systems and it is

necessary to internally protect it from oxygen presence.
The aluminum layer in the multygol pipe is a barrier
that prevents oxygen from penetrating and circulating in the
pipes and causing corrossion in the system metal

It is very easy to uncoil the pipe to the requied layout.

If the pipe is installed on the ceiling it must be anchored with clamps or collars according to

1. The body is made of high grade brass alloy and machined to final shape.
2. The sleeve is made of stainless steel pipe and forged to its uniqe form.
