SEL

SITOHISTOTEKNOLOGI

Sitohistoteknologi terdiri dari :

Sito berarti sel
Histo berarti jaringan

Jadi merupakan ilmu yang mempelajari tentang sel

dan jaringan.

Jaringan Tubuh

Sel

Substansi Interseluler
Cairan

Jaringan Tubuh

Sel
Merupakan komponen yang bersifat hidup dalam jaringan dan
merupakan unit struktural dan fungsional yang terkecil dari
organisme.

Prinsip Teori Sel

All living things are made of cells
(Theodor Schwann, 1810-1882 & Matthias Schleiden, 1804-1881)

Figure 9-1 Molecular Biology of the Cell, Fifth Edition ( Garland Science 2008)

Prinsip Teori Sel

Smallest living unit of structure and function of all organisms is
the cell
(Rudolf Virchow, 50 years later)

All cells arise from preexisting cells

(this principle discarded the idea of spontaneous generation)

Figure 9-1 Molecular Biology of the Cell, Fifth Edition ( Garland Science 2008)

Prinsip Teori Sel

Maintain homeostasis at cellular level

Figure 9-1 Molecular Biology of the Cell, Fifth Edition ( Garland Science 2008)

Jaringan Tubuh

Substansi Interseluler
Bersifat tidak hidup dan sebagai hasil produksi sel. Terdapat diantara sel-sel
didalam jaringan. Bentuk fisiknya dapat dipilahkan :
Sebagai substansi dasar karena tidak berbentuk dan dalam keadaan
setengah padat
Sebagai serabut.

Jaringan Tubuh

Cairan
Merupakan komponen yang menonjol dalam plasma darah,
cairan limfa, cairan jaringan, dsb.

Proteins - organelles

Plasma membrane encloses

The cell phospholipid bilayer

Membran Sel
Consists of phospholipids, cholesterol, proteins, and oligosacaharide chains
7,5 10 nm

Function of Plasma membrane

1. PHYSICAL BARRIER: Establishes a flexible boundary,
protects cellular contents, and supports cell structure.
2. SELECTIVE PERMEABILITY: Regulates entry and exit of
ions, nutrients, and waste molecules through the membrane.
3. COMMUNICATION: Contains receptors that recognize
and respond to molecular signals.

Prokaryotic Cells

Tipe Sel
Prokaryotic

Eukaryotic

Bacteria and Archaea

protists, fungi, plants and

animals

Have no nucleus and very few

organelles, DNA is free

larger,more complex,
DNA is inside the nucleus

Sel Prokariotik

No membrane bound
nucleus

Nucleoid = region of
DNA concentration

Organelles not bound by

membranes

Eukaryotic Cells

Nucleus bound by membrane

Include fungi, protists, plant, and
animal cells
Possess many organelles
