Design is everything; there is no one thing that can
encapsulate the whole of design. In my opinion, design is the concept of how things look to each individual person. The design of our brains is what draws us to what we believe to be well designed or not. For each person, design is different, some may use it more than others, but in the long run, it is an important aspect in life for everyone.

For both my design comparisons, I decided use resumes as
my examples. Resumes are used in any period of your life and are essential for people to find a job. In case of this resume its quite simple, yet it brings also says a lot, depicting that the person is quite mature. The white section with the contact details gives it a very bold statement, standing out from all the other details. The greeting of Hallo and Danke give the employer a friendly feeling and gives the sense that he is greeting the employer. The person has also incorporated small graphics to represent what each section represents. Overall, the design is a balanced design that is un-crowded with the layout being horizontal compared to the traditional vertical
This resume was rated as one of the worst resumes ever
and I can see why. Firstly the fact that there are just too many fonts and colours throughout the document is just very off putting. The layout of it is generally alright; however, you do get the sense that the page is just a little bit too crowded. There are no margins on either side of the document creating the sense that everything is just too tightly packed. Some of the information on the page is also irrelevant to finding a job such as marital status and religion. Overall the document just gives the impression that a grade school kid created it, playing around with fancy fonts
