SiteWatch/GenTrak Equipment Install Guide

Overview
A GTT may need to be replaced due to failure of hardware or because a feature
upgrade requires a GTT firmware version that cannot be over-the-air programmed.
Preparation
Before travelling to site ensure that your replacement GTT is:
1.
2.
3.
4.

Installed with a suitable firmware version

Fully functioning
Able to connect to the GenTrak/SiteWatch server
Configured on the server and available to be selected as a replacement unit

Checking that the GTT is Available on the Server

1. Power up the GTT with antenna connected and its SIM card inserted
2. Check that the GTT appears in the list of GTTs available to assign to assets
either by searching in the Telemetry Units Overview grid or using the dropdown in Asset Configuration:

Replacing GTT On-site

Remove old GTT and replace with the new one. Connecting the cables into the same
sockets that came out of. TAKE CARE TO REPLACE IN EXACTLY THE SAME SOCKETS.

Selecting the New GTT at the Server

Either before you travel to site or when at site, go to the Asset configuration pane
for the site/asset and select the new GTT from the drop-down list. If the new GTT is
not in the list then it has never been connected to the server and you must first
resolve this.
You will be asked to confirm that the change is a replacement:

Click OK and the association between the GTT and the asset will have been changed
and the configuration of the site will be set to the same parameters as before.
Historical data, however, will be lost:

You mean need to wait a minute or so before attempting to view information or

configuring the new combination.
