DEFIBRILLATOR
Defibrillation is a common treatment for life-threatening cardiac dysrhythmias and
ventricular fibrillation. Defibrillation consists of delivering a therapeutic dose of electric
current (often called a countershock) to the heart with a device called a defibrillator. This
depolarizes a critical mass of the heart muscle, terminates the dysrhythmia, and allows
normal sinus rhythm to be reestablished by the body's natural pacemaker, in the sinoatrial
node of the heart.
Defibrillators can be external, transvenous, or implanted (implantable cardioverterdefibrillator), depending on the type of device used or needed. Some external units,
known as automated external defibrillators (AEDs), automate the diagnosis of treatable
rhythms, meaning that lay responders or bystanders are able to use them successfully
with little or no training.

DEFIBRILLATOR ANALYZER
Fluke Biomedicals defibrillator analyzers and defibrillator/transcutaneous
pacemaker testing
devices are rugged, portable precision test
instruments that ensure proper operation and ultimate performance of critical
life-support cardiac-resuscitation equipment. We offer best-in-class
defibrillator testers that feature capabilities which encompass a wide
spectrum of worldwide established pulse shapes, showcasing AED tester
compatibility, and outperforming competitors in accuracy and standards.

DISCUSSION:
Defibrillation is a process in which an electronic device sends an electric shock to the heart to
stop an extremely rapid, irregular heartbeat, and restore the normal heart rhythm.
Defibrillation is performed to correct life-threatening fibrillations of the heart, which could
result in cardiac arrest. It should be performed immediately after identifying that the patient is
experiencing a cardiac emergency, has no pulse, and is unresponsive.
CONCLUSION:
Defibrillation is performed to correct life-threatening fibrillations of the heart, which could
result in cardiac arrest. It should be performed immediately after identifying that the patient
is experiencing a cardiac emergency, has no pulse, and is unresponsive.
