working on the development of the new intelligent anti-virus product VORUS,
which is going to be the next new product after we have stepped in the AI area, if

Technical Details
Technical Review
The technology core of our product is the combination of Artificial Intelligence
and antivirus engine.
The traditional antivirus engine is a system that determine whether a specific
data behaviour roots from a virus program by comparing the program file with
samples in the virus library. The engine is the core of the basic function of
traditional antivirus softwares.
Artificial intelligence engine enable VORUS to function without the virus
library. The running of this engine is based on a set of artificial intelligent
algorithms, and the algorithms will discover and learn the behaviours of virus
automatically. In this way, the engine could work independently, without
updating the virus library frequently, and the resulting high efficiency is the main
strength comparing to traditional softwares.

Identify Opportunities
Since most companies and individual has already been long-term users to other
old-fashioned antivirus software, people may be cautious to pay for a new one
unless they have a strong demand on the new product. Besides, AI engine is
rather a new thing on the market, so the degree of competition is very low.
Ideas:
Combining traditional and AI antivirus engine.
Provide for different customers demand, give different algorithm level.
Use a protect system in order to ensure there are no virus will escape the
detection.

Evaluate Project
Artificial Intelligence is developing rapidly, and AI technologies has been applied
in many areas. Since few companies use AI technologies in antivirus product, it is
easy for us to set foot in the market. Although the market of antivirus software is

large and is already occupied by multiple companies, it is not monopolized and

each one of them is no threat to us.

Allocate Resources and Plan Timing

Our team will be divided into developing part, testing part and manufacturing
part. They need to be committed to this project for one year.
The product should be released as soon as possible (in one year) in order to take
over the AI antivirus software market. Considering the cost of antivirus software,
the price of product should not be too much higher than traditional antivirus
software, avoiding customer lost caused by high shifting cost.

Product Introduction
VORUS is an antivirus software based on artificial intelligence engine. The main
difference between VORUS and traditional antivirus software is that it can
determine whether the programs behavior is from a virus program. The strength
of it is that users will not need to rely on the updating of virus library, which will
improve the efficiency a lot.
Goal: Develop an artificial intelligent algorithm which will be used in the antivirus
engine in one year.
Cost: $1,000,000
Target Market
Primary Market: individuals and companies which have a high demand on
information security.

Reflect on the Results and the Process

The product is designed according to the competitive strategy of Vodafone. And
the total resources allocated to product development is sufficient. Considering
the given questions, the team could proceed with next stage of the process.

First we complete the specification of all unique parts of the products. We divided
the department into four parts. The design team has the responsibility for
interface design, what we need is a interface-friendly software, so they first
design part geometry, then assign tolerances and finally complete industrial
design control documentation. The technical team develops the product by

transforming customers needs into real code and softwares function. Test team
is included in technical team, their duty is debug the software or produce a new
virus to test whether this software can recognize a new virus. Manufacturing
team will give a marketing plan to promote our product.
After we complete the specification of this product, we come to critical issue -production cost.

Market Research
Target customer:
According to the survey we did online, we found that our target customers are
individual users and business users. Basic antivirus functions suit individual users
while business users prefer special data protection and repairs. Concrete analysis
is as follows:
Individual users
Nowadays, most of the traditional anti-virus software used by individual users are
dependent on the virus library. However, with the rapid development of the
Internet, a variety of new viruses emerges in an endless stream, and basic
functions are no longer enough to maintain network security. Individual users
can use VORUS to search and eliminate virus, moreover, it can also monitor the
input and output of the computer internet to block out viruses even if it is a
complete stranger to the virus library and has never made any appearance
anywhere.
Business users
In addition to the same functions of individual user version, the business version
of VORUS supports data repair and prevent hacking. After the infection, some
damage may be done to data and devices. The survey shows that different
enterprises have different requirements to repair the database. According to
different database, VORUS develops different solutions and will take certain
remedial measures to repair where necessary.

Our company will sell a beta version to Vodafones new users and collect
experience feedbacks, including comparisons with other products and
optimizations of VORUS's function

Our company will choose some of the Vodafones old users randomly to provide
VORUSs three -months free trail and collect experience feedbacks, including
comparisons with traditional products and optimizations of VORUS's function

Our company will offer some professional engineers free beta version, and after
six months, collec experience feedbacks, including technical loopholes and
possible improvements.
