In todays connectors, the electrical and mechanical planes are the same (Figure 2).
For 4.3-10 these planes have been separated, which also results in a lower coupling torque (Figure 1).
This results in higher reliability, because the 7-16 design only have a good performance if the connectors
have been screwed together with the correct torque. Also the sealing situation is only ensured at 7-16 if the
correct torque is used during connecting.
In the 4.3-10 design the electrical performance is maintained even if the interface is not completely
tightened. This offers the possibility to have a hand-screw and quick-lock cable connector with high
reliability independent of torque.
With the 4.3-10 interface, easy handling and reliable useage by the installation companies is possible.
