RJ45 is

a type

of connector

commonly used for Ethernet networking. It looks similar to a telephone jack, but is slightly
wider. Since Ethernet cables have an RJ45 connector on each end, Ethernet cables are
sometimes also called RJ45 cables.
The "RJ" in RJ45 stands for "registered jack," since it is a standardized networking interface.
The "45" simply refers to the number of the interface standard. Each RJ45 connector has eight
pins, which means an RJ45 cable contains eight separate wires. If you look closely at the end
of an Ethernet cable, you can actually see the eight wires, which are each a different color.
Four of them are solid colors, while the other four are striped.
RJ45 cables can be wired in two different ways. One version is called T-568A and the other is
T-568B.

A crimping tool is a tool designed to crimp or connect a connector to the end of a

cable. For example, network cables and phone cables are created using a crimping tool
to connect the RJ-45 and RJ-11 connectors to the end of the cable. In the above
example picture, this crimper is capable of crimping a RJ-11 (6-Pin) and RJ-45 (8-Pin)
connectors and also includes a wire cutter near the handles that can be used to cut
phone or CAT6 cable.
To use this crimping tool, each wire is first placed into the connector. Once all the
wires are in the jack, the connectors with wires are placed into the crimping tool, and
the handles are squeezed together. Crimping makes the plastic connector puncture and
hold each of the wires, which prevents the wires from falling out and for data to be
transmitted from the connector to each of the wires.

3.1.1 Configures PC to Local Area

Network

First and for most attach the RJ-45 connector to the network port.
Right click on my network places icons located on the desk top.
Under the LAN or high speed internet, right on local area connected and select

properties in the menu that appears

In the local area connection dialog box that appear under the connection box scroll

down and select internet protocol TCP/IP and click on properties

Know we have two options to configure obtaining configuration setting atomically or

manually.
To obtain the setting automating obtain an IP address atomically.
To configure pc to the network manually fellow the procedures listed below:
- Click the option using IP address
- Inter the IP address to use

3.2 Other Responsibilities

Managing lab room
Holding any customer who come to IT bureau honestly

3.3 Benefits Technical Knowledge and Skills from My Course

Course I have taken at campus helped me on my assignment were as follows.
Being familiar with all computer skills more advantage on my assignment.
Especially computer network course and network administration helps me a lot to configure
networks.
Also during lab section being familiar tool of network material was helping me a lot.

3.4 Research Project

The IT department head of civil service of north Shoa zone addresses all sectors in the zones
to settle the problems they come across concerned with IT.As long as addressing all these
sectors in the zone is a very difficult there is a need to solve this problem by conducting a
research.

acquired practically.
It is also the place where I adapt how to work with other, how to work under the supervisor
and satisfy customer needs.

4.2 Recommendation
Although all things are good I recommend the internship program to improve the follow
-

The hosting organization should value the service interns provide.

The university should take the responsibilities for professional hazard.
The internship duration should be out of summer or break time.

University should facilitate the hosting organization especially huge organization

those are involuntary
