that they have to offer our very own future. Recently, there are numbers of students continue their studying
aboard. As the saying goes, the grass always looks greener on the other side of fence. Many consider study
aboard is a better option. Nonetheless, study abroad and local have their own uniqueness. They similar in
term of nature of competitiveness however differ in fees, experiences as well as the influences on character.
First of all, major goal of studying is to learn knowledge and same time forge better characters. Currently in
this modern-day and society, every nations focus on the education sector. Both local and overseas education
institutions keep improving to produce competitive students in future jobs markets, for example upgrading
of facilities, hiring of qualified lecturers and design better teaching methods. In Malaysia, there are various
school that meet specific demands of students, like universities, colleges, polytechnic, government, private
and parochial school. Hence, students are able to choose their desire school and unnecessary to study aboard
since there are different types of educational institution exist in local. Modern education concentrate on soft
skills, therefore study aboard or local, students can learn to speak in front public, work in group,
communicate better and so forth.
In comparison, the most obvious different of study local and aboard is the cost required. This is an
undeniable fact that study aboard require additional cost with the same education one will get. Different
countries have different currency rate. Usually, when we convert our currency to others currency, our value
will become smaller. If local students study in seasonal countries such as United Kingdom and Germany,
they need to buy winter clothing due to the different climate. In addition, students cannot avoid the high
transportation expenditures if study aboard. As the further the country from our country, the higher the price
of the flight ticket is. The prices of flight will even higher if students buy on peak season or in zero hour in
case of emergency. Study locally generally government will subsidy part of the tuition fees, hence the
expenses in slower. When students study aboard, they will become foreigner and so there are no subsidies on
tuition fee. Mostly extra charge will even apply on foreigners. As a result, higher expenditure is needed.
Normally students feel more comfortable in their own motherland, as they already get use the local
environment, culture as well as native language. Hence, in local students are ableto focus better on their
studies since various problems like communication problems and cultural different have been excluded.
However, study aboard students need to get use a whole new environment. The feeling of being alone and
away from home badly affects their concentration on studies. Some of them even give up their studies
because fail to get use themselves in oversea. However the experience of living in oversea is precious which
cannot obtain in local. Going aboard to further studies will benefit students by gaining new knowledge about
other country. By studying overseas, students could have many chances to interact with a lot of people from
different background and culture. So, students can learn about the new culture on what they wear, what they
eat and their custom. Moreover, study aboard acquire students to increase the use of more foreign language.
Consequently, students can perfectly master a new language and indirect more confident when communicate
with foreigners. On the other hand, studying abroad give one major benefits to broaden the world
understanding and perspective on international affairs. One will know how another culture approaches daily
life unusual challenges.
Last different of study aboard and local is in term of forging characters. Based on a research done by
International Education for Students (IES), it was shown that a majority of the students who studied abroad
realized that it is a catalyst to increase ones maturity and self-independence. By studying overseas,
students will be living away from family and friends. Thus, students will learn to live without depending on

period of time. Challenges and obstacles they faced are minute if compare with students in overseas. At last,
their personality improvement will remain with almost no differences.
In short, both studies aboard and studies local have similarities and differences. It falls upon students to
compare similarities and differences before deciding where to go. However if financial condition is allowed,
study aboard will be a better option since it provides students with global perspectives, and thus better
prepares for leading in global independent society. Even though higher cost is required, but it is an
investment comes with a long term benefit or return in the long run.

mishaps. First, the number of vehicles on the road should be controlled. The fewer cars there are on road, the

Furthermore, the island nation has one of the best public transportation systems in the region, so its citizens
dont actually need to own car. If Malaysians adopted to the same policies and improved on its public
transportation systems, there would be fewer accidents on the road.
Another solution would be educating Malaysian motorists to better drivers. Basic common courtesy should

presence of foreigners. Counterfeit currency has affected the image of Malaysia. Illegals form the African

Immigrants from neighboring countries who enter Malaysia illegal are involved in vehicle thefts, violent
bank robberies and burglaries. These criminals do not fear the police because they are heavily armed and

and economic loss. The innocent Malaysians become easy victims of these crooked minded foreigner who
will stop to all levels to get their ways.
Cases of kidnapping and abduction have risen as foreign students victimize local students. This is serious
threat to the safety of all Malaysians. Middle eastern men have sweet talked Malaysian women into drug
mules with promises of love, luxury and wealth. These gullible women are behind bars locally and in foreign
countries. More women will become easy victims if we do not nip the problem in the bud.
Foreign confidence trickster have lured local women in to the flesh trade too. The increase in crimes
involving arson, vengeance and impersonation is also due to the presence of foreigners. Illegal Myanmaris
have stayed protests and burnt down detention camp in their fight to stay in Malaysia permanently. Most of
them carry forged United Nations refugee cards and are involving in drug dealing as well as robberies.
South Americans have been involved in burglaries in condominiums and luxury apartments. They are known
to be cat burglars who scale high-rise buildings to carry thefts.
Malaysians need to be vigilant at all times now for the presence of foreigners has put their lives in danger. It
would immediate and appropriate action like what the Royal Malaysia police did by arresting the fanatical

in fact dysfunction as basic psychological needs are not met. Parents do not respect each other nor their

children. In the shadow of such negative parenting, children grow up hurting, ashamed, emotionally abused
and lacking self worth.
What makes a happy family? Topping the list is communication. Families must connect and talk to each
other. Children must be allowed to express their ideas and feelings. In response, parent must acknowledge
and show their appreciation for the effort made. At the same time, communication between spouses must be
open and honest, tempered with patience and understanding. The family should learn to laugh with each
other and not at each other.
Healthy families respect each other. They give respect and receive respect in return. Respecting another
members point of view, even though it is different from ones own, is important. Members of family do not
put down one another in front of friends and strangers. Each is a unique individual with his own desires and
wants. Respecting these desires and wants requires accommodation, and adoption of give-and-take attitude.
Making time for each other is another priority. Parents must make time for their children and each other.
Work and other activities must not be allowed to encroach into family time. Family time is very precious.
Having dinner together daily or setting aside Saturday or Sundays are pockets of time that can ensure family

Healthy families are not caught up in an overly competitive spirit of raising children to be the brightest, the

unity envisioned by past prime ministers of this nation with a different approach and method according to
the current condition of the world. In the other words, he updated the concept which is brought by the
previous Malaysian leaders. The Prime Minister also states that the 1 Malaysia concept is the guideline on
how to achieve bangsa Malaysia, which translates into English as a Malaysian race.
Since Malaysia practices parliamentary democracy and it is necessary to instill the spirit of one Malaysia
among the multi-ethnic society. When people of diverse origin become united, Malaysia will gain widely
from the close cooperation. Malays, Indians, Chinese and other races will be able to live peacefully without
the feeling of hatred, anger, jealousy and envy. It is therefore the right time for all Malaysian to think of this
as one country, one people, one organization and one community. This will add a lot f benefits for Malaysia
will remain safe, stable and secure at all time.
The one Malaysia concept will enable all Malaysians to improve further in education, technology, science,
art, music and culinary skill. When a nation lives peacefully without prejudice and discrimination, the
country will prosper to great height. All Malaysians will learn from each other and help one another
regardless the dissimilarity of races. Hence, a society of love, trust, care and mutual respect will be created.
Children in multi-ethnic schools will interact freely without any hindrances for they will treat one another as
equal Malaysian. This spirit of esprit de corp will go a long way in creating a country based on strong
ethnic ties, culture, norms, practices and beliefs. This will lead to the combination of forces from all races
and boost the economy as well as development of this beloved country.
This country will become a role model for others to emulate where peace, prosperity and happiness will
prevail. Malaysians will become the leaders in all fields for they will share the knowledge, know hows,
skills and tact. Malaysians will be able to lead more meaningful life for they will learn to love Malaysia as

their homeland. There will not be any migration to other countries for they will be satisfied and happy with
the local conditions and situations.

In more recent times, the same anxiety greeted the advent of computers, especially the internet. Today, the
internet has become an essential tool and we cannot imagine a life without it. Like the computer, the mobile
phone has many advantages, while an abuse of it can have disastrous results. Mobile phones are useful tools
of communication. Parents and children can keep in touch with each other and any last minute change of
plans can be conveyed easily without any trouble either party. Some children however, cite this as loss of
privacy as parents will have 24 hours access to their children.
Parents say mobile phone is more than a convenience it is an essential item that can function as a tracker
device. With it they can monitor their children and check o their whereabouts via satellite. Thus, wherever
they are, parent can ensure the safety of their children and avoid incidents like kidnapping, rape and other
such crimes.
Education Ministry officials, school authorities and many parents believe that allowing mobile phones in
schools would only widen the disparity between the haves and the have-nots among students. Mobile phone
come in variety of shapes, colours and functions: from generic ones to highly sophisticated smartphones.
Not every child in school comes from middle or upper class families that can afford to buy each child mobile
phones. The self-esteem of children who do not own a mobile phone or who possess a basic one will be
affected.
Low self-esteem among students would causes rift among children. Cliques, jealousy and rivalry would
result. This unhealthy situation should not be nurtured in a school. Instead, the school environment should
promote equal opportunities and equal treatment.
Another reason for the strong outcry against students to bring mobile phones to school is the distraction is
poses. SMS text, games and ringing tones are some of the distractors that take the students attention away
from the lesson. Children, being children, will not a able to resist the temptation of answering calls and
sending messages when they should be listening to the teacher or completing their written work. Even if the
school authorities ban the use of mobile phones during classes, the games available on the phone is
something the students would resort to classes to overcome boredom.
Apart from diverting students attention, the mobile phone can be threaten the validity of school
examinations. Students may cheat during examination via text message. Information or answers can be
passed from one student to the next while examiners may be totally oblivious of the heating that happens.

Finally, even adults find it hard to exercise social etiquette in the use of mobile phones, therefore children
cannot be expected to do any better. Despite explicit message in movie theaters, at meetings and at formal
meetings, we still hear phones ringing away. School administrator and discipline teachers would find it
difficult to effectively prohibit students from using their phones during lessons.
If the Ministry of Education lifts ban on mobile phones, schools may come up with new rules or guidelines
to control the use of the mobile phone. Inevitably, teachers will be burdened with the task of monitoring ile
phone use and misuse of the mobile phone. All this is additional stress for teachers who are already loaded
with heavy responsibility.

In short, undeniable mobile phones bring lot of conveniences. However, allowing young students to bring
mobile phones is still unnecessary. For them, mobile phones are just mainly entertainment and showing-off
tools. Perhaps authorities can make a slight change on the rule, for example merely allowing students of
secondary schools to bring mobile phones, instead of including the primary schools students.

No one can deny that motivation can create students with vitality and vigor that they never knew before.
Motivation creates heroes out of cowards and makes mediocre students to become outstanding performers in
life.

Motivated students will not be weak-mind. However, they will have nerves of steel and great will power to
overcome all the obstacles in life. Students need proper motivation in order to survive in this world which is
full of trial, tribulations and negativity. A little motivation will go a long way in making individuals to be
great leaders.
