3. OMC Introduction

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ ENTIRE MANUAL BEFORE OPERATING.

Coiler's Operation and Maintenance Center (OMC) is a software application that

enables remote or local monitoring and management of Coiler’s repeater
equipment on a network. The Coiler OMC system reduces the need for on-site visits,
providing RF technicians with powerful remote configuration and alarm reporting tools.

Management functions enable remote control of the repeater's parameters, including

gain, output power and AGC functionality (function vary depending on repeater
model – please see System Overview for details) . An alarm message is generated if
a fault has occurred in any of the repeaters. The message will be sent to the OMC
Center, as well as to a technician responsible for a specific site. Coiler OMC also
offers user and log management, as well as reporting functions. Access to Coiler
OMC can be controlled by two-level password protection.

Communication between the OMC and the repeaters is ensured via a short
messaging system (SMS) through a wireless modem, or locally through a RS-232
cable. The OMC system can remotely control up to 16,000 repeaters on a network.
Coiler's OMC software is compatible with Microsoft Windows 2000 or later.
