Terhadap (Hasil Belajar dan Keterampilan Proses Sains) dan Penguasaan
Konsep Sains Siswa Kelas VIII Di SMP Negeri 2 Tabanan. Tesis. Program

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model
pembelajaran terhadap keterampilan proses sains dan penguasaan konsep sains
siswa. Model pembelajaran yang diterapkan adalah model siklus belajar SPA dan
konvensional.
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 2 Tabanan pada siswa kelas
VIII semester genap tahun pelajaran 2008/2009. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian
eksperimen semu dengan menggunakan rancangan The Posttest Only Control
Group Design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri
2 Tabanan yang berjumlah 257 siswa (6 kelas) dan sampel penelitian yang
berjumlah 86 orang (2 kelas). Dua instrumen pokok penelitian yaitu lembar
observasi unjuk kerja dan tes yang digunakan sebagai alat pengumpul data.
Lembar observasi unjuk kerja digunakan untuk mengukur keterampilan proses
sains siswa dan tes untuk mengukur penguasaan konsep sains siswa. Data yang
diperoleh dianalisis dalam dua tahap, yaitu analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis
statistik inferensial. Untuk menguji hipotesis digunakan analisis varians
multivariate.
Temuan penelitian adalah sebagai berikut. Pertama, keterampilan proses
sains siswa yang diajar dengan model siklus belajar SPA lebih baik daripada siswa
yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Kedua, penguasaan konsep
sains siswa yang diajar dengan model siklus belajar SPA lebih baik daripada siswa
yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Ketiga, keterampilan
proses sains dan penguasaan konsep sains antara siswa yang diajar dengan model
siklus belajar SPA lebih baik daripada siswa yang diajar dengan model
konvensional.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model siklus belajar SPA sangat
baik digunakan untuk menumbuhkembangkan keterampilan proses sains dan
meningkatkan penguasaan konsep sains siswa.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di atas dapat direkomendasikan bahwa model
siklus belajar yang berdasarkan kearifan lokal masyarakat Bali (Tri pramana)
dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif model pembelajaran dalam mengembangkan
potensi dasar yang dimiliki pebelajar, yaitu bayu, sabda, idep, untuk
meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan penguasaan konsep sains siswa.

Cycle Model on the Science Process Skill and Science Concepts Mastery of
the VIII Grade Students of SMP Negeri 2 Tabanan in the Academic Year of

The aim of this research is to find out the influence of the implementation
of SPA learning model on the science process skill and science concept mastery of
the students under investigation. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri 2
Tabanan in the academic year of 2008/2009. This is a quasi experimental research
with the design of The Posttest Only Control Group Design. The population of
this research covers the whole students of grade VIII in SMP 2 Tabanan which
consisted of 257 students (6 classes). The research samples consisted of 86
students (2 classes). Two main instruments are used to collect the data, namely:
observation sheet and test. The observation sheet was used to measure the
students science process skill. The test was used to measure the students science
concept mastery. The collected data were analyzed in two steps; statisticdescriptive analysis and statistic-differential analysis. To examine the hypothesis,
multivariate variance analysis is used.
The results of this research are summarised as follows; First, the science
process of the students who were taught based on SPA learning cycle was better
than that of the students who were taught based on the conventional model.
Second, the science concept mastery of the students who were taught based on the
SPA model was also better compared to that of the students who were taught
based on the conventional model. Third, the science process skill and the science
concept mastery of the students who were taught based on SPA model are better
than that of the students who were not. These result had shown that the SPA
learning cycle is very significant to be implied in improving the students science
process skill and their science concept mastery.
Based on the result of the research, it could be recommended that the
learning cycle model with the local Balinese wisdom based (Tri Pramana) be set
as an alternative learning model in developing the potentials which the students
have, such as Bayu, Sabda, Idep, for improving the students science process skill
and their science concept mastery.
