Welcome & Announcements
*Opening Hymn: #40 For the Beauty of the Earth
*Call to Worship:
L. This is the day that God has made. Let us be joyful!
P. On this day, a special day, we are reminded of the expanse and diversity of Gods
Creation.
L. On this World Communion Sunday we are reminded that just as we gather to hear the
Word and share the Table, Christians in every part of the world will do the same in
Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, North America, and
the Pacific. Different languages, different joys, different concerns.
P. Now it is our time to join with our sisters and brothers everywhere. We come
with thanksgiving for the privilege of being a part of Christs witnesses in all
times and all places.
A.
We gather on this day grateful that Christians witness not only here but in all
places and circumstances. We worship with joy and excitement. +*
*Opening Prayer [In Unison]:

Inspire us this day, O God. With the power of your Holy Spirit, give us courage for
the living of these days. With Christs holy calling in our lives, rekindle our sense of
purpose. With your steadfast love and faithfulness, renew our faith. In gratitude and
trust, we pray. Amen~+

Hymn: #699 Let Us Break Bread Together
The Sacrament of Holy Communion:
(We share an open communion here at St. Johns. All who have accepted Christ as Lord and
Savior are invited to receive communion)

Invitation
Prayer of Confession [In Unison]:
God of mercy, as we gather to celebrate your gift of love we recall with sorrow
The times when we forget you and are divided one from the other. How often
our thoughts, our words, our actions have betrayed the goodness you have
shown to us. Forgive us, merciful God. Mend what is broken. Heal the wounded
relationships that separate us from you and one another; through Jesus Christ
our Lord. Amen. #
(silent prayers of confession)
The Assurance of Gods Forgiveness
Communion Prayer &Words of Institution
The Lords Prayer [In Unison]:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will
be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us
our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and
the glory forever. Amen
The Assurance of Gods Forgiveness (Responsive)
L. In Christs name, and as one with you in the church, I declare to you: Your sins
are forgiven.
P.
In Christs name, and as sisters and brothers in the church, we declare to you:
Your sins are forgiven. Thanks be to God!+

(As the bread & cup are passed, please hold them so we may receive them together. Note that there
are grapes in the trays these grapes are offered for your youth who have not been confirmed yet.
We want them to start experiencing the meaning of communion and feel included.)

Prayer of Thanksgiving [In Unison]:

Almighty God, we give you thanks for the gift of our Saviors presence in the
simplicity and splendor of this holy meal. Unite us with all who are fed by Christs
body and blood that we may faithfully proclaim the good news of your love and that
your universal church may be a rainbow of hope in an uncertain world; through
Jesus Christ our Redeemer. Amen.+

On Sunday, November 6th, we will be having a special Veterans Day Service. This year
we are asking if anyone has any service/war medals to display, along with flags, please
bring them to church during that week (November 1, 2, or 3). Please make sure you
have your name on the item so they can be returned to you after the service, or you
may pick them up then.
Also, we are asking that you fill out one of the forms in back of church, even if you
dont bring in any memorabilias, so we can include them in the on-going list we are
trying to make. Thank you.
