All operable vents and doors required as a part of the smoke management system will be provided
with motorized actuators linked to the main fire alarm control panel (FACP) and the fireman's
smoke control station (FSCS); self-adjusting upon installation with electronic stops in intermediate
closing positions in case of overload; accessories, power supplies, switches and controls. Provide
single and tandem operating actuators as required to accommodate window and doors. Doors and
windows shall have a manual override as described in Division 16 Section "Fire Detection, Voice
Evacuation & Fireman's Telephone System", All doors used in smoke management shall be
operated by motion detector.

Delegated Design: Design automatic doors and windows, including comprehensive engineering
analysis by a qualified. professional engineer, using performance requirements and design criteria
indicated.

adjusting as required for proper automatic entrance operation at rated speed and capacity. Provide

The smoke management system shall be directly controlled through the ftre alarm control
panel and flfcman's smoke control station (FSCS) specified in Division 16 Section "Fire
Detection, Voice Evacuation & Fireman's Telephone System". and monitored by means of
a stand-alone programmable logic unitary controller.
Smoke Management Operation Sequence:

In case of smoke, as sensed by the smoke detectors through the fire alarm control
system, the fire alann panel shall activate the smoke management operation as
follows:

The system will be triggered automatically by the smoke detectors through the fire

doors shall be provided with continuous cover integrating a non visible closing
sequence controller, characterized as an electro-hydraulic door drive with
electromagnetic locking device including adjustable spring force.
Device to be preadjusted for connection to smoke detection system, hold-open time
adjustable from 0 - 60 seconds, tripping upon alann by smoke detection system or
self-sufficient tripping unit as per Engineer's approval.
Reset button shall be provided for operating status recovery after alarm release, with
latching action valve and set of assembly plates.
In the event of power failure, swing door shall operate manually.

PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1
EXAMINATION
A.
Examine conditions, with Installer present, for compliance with requirements for installation
tolerances, header support, and other conditions affecting performance of automatic entrances.
B.
Proceed with installation only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.
INSTALLATION

General: Do not install damaged components. Fit frame joints to produce hairline joints free of
burrs and distortion. Rigidly secure nonmovement joints. Seal joints watertight.

contact surfaces with primer or by applying sealant or tape recommended by manufacturer
