I fixed my car
To make somebody do something for us, we usually use had o got (past tense usually)
followed by a past participle. It is the so called causative use. Study the exmaples below:
I had/got my hair cut
I had/got my car repaired
Look at the difference bewteen these two sentences:
I painted my garage The person who painted the garage was the speaker.
I had my garage painted Somebody (normally a painter) painted the garage
for me.
This construction is also used to say that a disgrace or accident has happened to a
person:
He had his car stolen while he was in the supermarket Le robaron el coche
mientras estaba en el supermercado.
