A. If A and B are two operators which both commute with their commutator
[A, B], prove that
[A, B n ] = nB n1 [A, B] .

B. A particle of mass m moves in a one-dimensional potential given by
V (x) = VO for |x| < a and V (x) = 0 for |x| > a. Here VO is a positive constant. Determine the relations for which a bound state of energy E
will satisfy for (B.1.) a state of even parity and (B.2.) for a state of odd
parity. Devise a graphical method for determining the values of E and show
that, whatever the values of VO and a, there is at least one bound state.
