Chapter V: Developing Chapter III, Research Methods and

Procedures

The 1st prong: Preparation

As part of my assignment, I get to choose one chapter of a book to
read and summarize afterwards. And as my usual practice upon holding a
book, I get to skim the pages. I browse pages fastly, and looked only for
topics that are in that book. I chose chapter III because it caught my
attention for having only few pages.

The 2nd prong: Overview

I have learned that the chapter I chose includes the following topics:

The 3rd prong: The closer reading.

I read all the pages of the chapter I have chosen. Since there were only
few pages of this chapter, I get to finish reading everything in no time. Each
of the topics were clearly explained. Examples were given and terminologies
were clearly defined.

The 4th prong: Review

After reading chapter V, I get to learn some terminologies I
encountered such as research, data, respondents, sampling procedures, data
gathering procedures and others. These are parts of the research methods
and procedures. In research, different methods can be used, and to facilitate
research, you will need to gather data. These data can come from the
respondents. Respondents can be chosen using a sampling procedure. The
instrument to be used in gathering data must be validated before using it.
Once data are gathered, statistical measures will be applied.
But I still couldnt get much of the thing being referred to in this
chapter. Because I know I also have to read the other chapters of this book
particularly the chapters before the fifth.
