INTRODUCTION

The oxford dictionary defines salesperson as a person employed


to sell goods or service
Work related problems can be defined as the problems faced by a
salesperson while conducting sales of goods and services.
Work related problems are related to the following matters1. Interaction capacities- it is the capacity of the salesperson to
interact with prospective customers in order to make them
understand clearly regarding the products or services
introduced by the sales person
2. Training on sales- it is the amount and qualities of trains
participated by the sales person.
3. Language barriers- language barriers can be another problem
as the residence of imphal city are of different culture and
people.
4. Knowledge regarding their product or services- as sales
persons are required to describe and explain everything
regarding the product or services. So it is important that the
sales people have the required knowledge about the products
or services they are selling.
5. Customers feedbacks- it is important as there is a need to
know how the prospective customers, who had been
approached by sales people, react to the conversations
occurred between them and the sales person.
6. Up holding relation with customers- maintaining a good
relationship with customers is one of the priorities of the sales
people, incapacity to maintain a good relation can be a major
problem.
7. Sales targets- a sales person is always bounded by the sales
target of their respective businesses or enterprises. Reaching
the target is a major function of every sales person
It is to be noted that the above points are only the source where
problems can occur, but the actual and specific (to imphal city
area) problems is based om the findings of this project.

Scope of studyThis study titled general work-related problems of sales people


in imphal area is conducted to identify, analyse the general
problems faced by sales people working as freelance or under a
firm situated in imphal city.

The study is not based on the any specific industries or business,


but it is based on the experience and knowledge of any random
salesperson working in imphal city.
The lack of focus on a particular industry is meant for identifying
the general problems that a sales person faces while working in
Imphal city

Objectives of the study-

Primary objectives1. To identify the work-related problems of sales


executives.
2. To find out whether or not, sales executives in
imphal city has adequate sales training.
3. To analyse the customers feedbacks and attitude
shown to the sales people.
4. To find out whether or not, sales people can keep
good relationship with their regular customers.

Other objectives1. To identify problems faced in course of winning a


proposal.
2. To measure the various problems and prioritise
according to their relevant impact on the sales
people.
3. To suggest remedial measures for addressing the
problems found out on the above process.
