Good day everyone, today we are going to present to you what is Hydrogen all about and
how the Hydrogen is being produced thru a simplest way or method. At the end of this
demonstration, well find out how wonder this smallest molecule among other elements in
which will give us more benefits not only to our environment but to our health as well.

Hydrogen Basics
In many ways, hydrogen is the perfect fuel. It is the cleanest burning and the most efficient among
other fossils. Likewise, hydrogen can produce electricity and electricity can produce hydrogen,
creating an energy loop that is renewable and harmless to the environment. Hydrogen combines
chemically with most elements, so it has been utilized as an industrial chemical in a wide range of
applications for many years. In vehicles, hydrogen can be used as a fuel in two ways: to produce
electricity in a fuel cell for the cleanest option; or in an internal combustion engine where emissions
are still significantly eliminated /reduced compared with other fuels. Hydrogen doesnt emit carbon
monoxide thus it doesnt harm the environment.

Who discovered Hydrogen?

Henry Cavendish (10 October 1731 24 February 1810) was a British natural philosopher, scientist,
and an important experimental and theoretical chemist and physicist. Cavendish is noted for his
discovery of hydrogen or what he called "Inflammable Air".

What is Hydrogen?

Hydrogen is the most abundant element, comprising about three quarters of the mass in the
universe.

Hydrogen is found in the water that covers 70% of the earth's surface and in all organic
matter.

Hydrogen is the simplest element in the universe. It is made up of one proton and one
electron.

Hydrogen is the lightest of all elements and gases, and is 14 times lighter than air. A gaseous
hydrogen "spill" diffuses immediately into the air, and does not pollute the ground or groundwater.

Hydrogen is colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, nonmetallic, and nontoxic. It does not
produce acid rain, deplete the ozone or produce harmful emissions.

Hydrogen is a highly Combustible diatomic gas with molecular formula of H2.

How is Hydrogen the Most Efficient Fuel?

Hydrogen has the highest combustion energy per pound relative to any other fuel, meaning it
is more efficient on a weight basis than fuels (i.e. Petroleum, LPG etc..) used currently in
motor/vehicle industry.

Hydrogen offers about three (3) times more energy than most other common fuels. It
combines readily with oxygen. Please note that hydrogen & Oxygen is a good mixture for combustion.

Why is Hydrogen the Cleanest Fuel?

Unlike carbon-based fuels such as Petrol, LPG, Acetylene, etc.., hydrogen produces no harmful
by-products upon combustion. Only energy and clean water are produced when hydrogen is combined
with oxygen in a fuel cell.

How is Hydrogen Produced?

Electrolysis process produces hydrogen by using or applying an electrical current to separate hydrogen
and oxygen from water.

How has Hydrogen been used?

Hydrogen is used daily as a gas and liquid by many industries, including the petroleum
industry and in manufacturing processes for producing chemicals, foods, electronics and .
Hydrogen is used as a fuel for the NASA space shuttle.
Hydrogen is also used to make active hydrogenated water (Alkaline) which serves as
an Anti-Oxidant. The molecule of hydrogenated water is small enough to penetrate into cells deeply. It
can neutralize ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species) which are notorious free radicals for destroying normal
cells or distorting DNAs.

We are here to demonstrate the tool or machine that we are going to use in producing hydrogen. This
tool is so called Hydrogen Reactor that makes hydrogen. This time, we are going to use the
electrolysis process in order to split or decompose the water in which the Hydrogen & Oxygen (H2O)
will be separated from water.
Please note that, this technique can be used to make hydrogen fuel/hydrogen gas and
breathable oxygen.

Water Basics
Water is life. It is very important to all living things. Water is a basic need of all living things. We need
it for washing our clothes & dishes, to wash hands & body, for cooking, to water plants and many
other things that requires water. Hence, 70% of human body was composed of water and even earth

Please note; good ORP shall be negative ion which help to neutralize oxidation in our body and to
balance the unpaired electron that has been damaged by Free Radicals. Otherwise, a positive ORP
means more oxidation which is not good in our body.

What is pH?
pH is a measure of how acidic/basic water is. The range goes from 0 - 14, with 7 being neutral or an
average level. pHs of less than 7 indicate acidity, whereas a pH of greater than 7 indicates alkalinity
of water. pH is really a measure of the relative amount of free hydrogen and hydroxyl ions in the
water.

What is electrolysis?
Answer: It is a process of splitting or decomposition in which the water separated from its
molecules hydrogen (H2) & oxygen (O) by using electricity being passed through the water. The
reaction has a standard potential of 1.23 V, meaning it ideally requires a potential difference of
1.23 volts to split

Can I use any kind of water in producing hydrogen?

Answer: Yes, as long as the water is clean. However, the water from Rain, spring water, Tap Water &
Sea water were all contains impurities. A typical analysis will show minerals, suspended solids and
other contaminates contained in these varieties. These impurities will precipitate out of the water
when subjected to electrolysis. Thus, it is recommended to use only pure distilled water.

What is the electrolyte to use in generating hydrogen?

Answer: There are many different electrolytes that can work in an electrolysis process. Some common
ones considered for HHO fuel making application include:

Potassium Hydroxide... KOH

Sodium Hydroxide/ Lye... NaOH
Sodium Chloride... NaCI
Baking Soda... NaHCO
Sulfuric Acid... H2SO4

An electrolyte acts as an ionizer for conduction of the electricity. By using distilled water it must be
understood that this water cannot conduct enough electricity on its own, therefore a catalyst is

Answer: It has been found that among other electrolytes; only Potassium Hydroxide (KOH) and
Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) are two substances that catalyze efficiently. It is the most stable, and it is
not consumed during the electrolysis.

Since hydrogen is very explosive than other fuels, arent you afraid that hydrogen can
explode to you?

Answer: Yes I am, thats why an extra care & safety precaution shall always be strictly applied and
observed. Safety and protective tools shall also be used. There shall also have a proper guidance from
the expert or from the ones who is knowledgeable on this process.

Is the hydrogen can be used for any type of engine? What are the benefits we can have
using hydrogen fuel in a cars/vehicles.

Answer: Yes, it can be used for both diesel & gasoline engine. Likewise, there are lot of benefits we
can have using hydrogen gas such as the following;

It will boost the power efficiency of engine.

It will no longer have carbon emission after burning it.
Less engine vibration.
Hydrogen explosion is so fast that it fills the combustion chamber at least 3 times faster than
the gasoline explosion. The burn speed of hydrogen is 0.098 to 0.197 ft/min (3 to 6 cm/min)
compared gasolines 0.00656 to 0.0295 ft/min (0.2 to 0.9 cm/min).
It has a higher burn temperature and explosive force in which will get a cleaner engine
resulting to get better mileage and fewer oil changes.

What is your objective/purpose in making this experiment and how do you arrive into
this project?

Answer: Our ultimate objective in making this project is simply because we want to significantly
contribute to our mother earth a clean & green environment but also were looking for a best solution
to overcome the universal problem on fuel shortage & due to unstable prices of basic fuels that we are
using right now.
