Summary

The right angle gearbox is widely applied in driving transmission, and


used for driving harp, crab, pump and any other power units. It is the
important equipment of rig gearing and pump driving units that can connect
with different methods, and play an important role in changing dynamic
direction and decreasing the rotation speed. That right angle gearbox used
by screw gear has the feature of driving accurately, low noise and big PWR.
Each lubrication parts are not only used by drench lubrication, but also
splash lubrication, and the lubrication effect is good. The structure of whole
set is simple, and it is convenient for using.

(1)The power unit should change the driving direction passing by
the screw gear and transmit by output when it is connected

through the input.


(2)The adjusting gasket play an important role in adjusting the
interspaces of both screw gear, but it shoule be fitted together as
need.

2Operating principle
The right angle gearbox can connect with the different methods. The
power unite should transmit the power to gearbox, and it can transmit the
power which the dynamic direction and decreasing the rotation speed is
changed by transmission box to driving harp, crab, pump and any other
power units

ThreeInstallation and Calibration


1Transportation
It should be transported by crane as design when transport the right
angle gearbox. The cable should be hung up in the hanger, (as Fg.3) using
the crane and the minimum load of cable is 5 ton. When the right angle
gearbox is moved or laid down, the bottom and both sides of box should
not be shook or stocked in order to avoid the accuracy.

2Installation
The right angle gearbox has been completely debugged before it left the
factory, if it is not installed correctly, the using effect and life should be
affected. So to ensure the regular work of right angle gearbox, its flatness
of base should be installed less than 0.1mm, and the right alignment
between the output and the input should less than 0.1mm and the maximum
error of the center is less than 0.3mm... The body and the base should be
firmly connected with the base to keep steady of gearbox.

3Calibration
Firstly, We should open the box cover; check that if there are eyewinker
such as tack, screw and nut and the cleaning and connecting circumstance
of each part of body Before Calibration; then we should lubricate the clean

lubrication oil into the relevant place, close the box; check that if it is
flexibly for the driving parts to drive, and it is the oil-way and gas-way are
unblocked. After checking, zero-load experiment should be carried out in
order to ensure the steady driving, and it should be shook or stocked, and
its inequality noise should be lower than 85 db. Load driving should be
after the zero-loads driving for a period of time.

Fourlubrication
Each lubrication parts are not only used by drench lubrication, but also
by splash lubrication and the bevel gear lubrication is used with hypoid
gear oil. It adopts the lubrication of HL5728SY1102-77in summer ,
and adopts the lubrication of HL5722SY110277in winter; The
lubrication system is as Fig.4 for reference. The lubrication oil should be
thrown by the oil supply hole on the bearing lubrication in Bearing cover
II, and the lubrication oil should be thrown by the two oil supply holes on
the bearing lubrication in bearing base III.

FiveMaintenance
(1) Check the connectional situation of each parts on time, clean out the
eyewinker in the box.
(2) Check the lubrication clean in the box, the angle gearbox should be

cleaned and changed the lubrication oil before 15 days when it is used for
the first time. Then it should be changed the oil once a week, please notice
the oil level when you change the oil, otherwise the oil should be leak and
it should influence in lubrication.
(3)Check the oil-way on time, to ensure the gear coupling and the regular
lubrication of bearing.
(4) Dont open the observation window freely; otherwise the eyewinker
should be dropped in, and dont remove the angle gearbox, and it is
forbidden to burn and solder on every parts of box body, once there is
something wrong with it, please call the specialist for check and
maintenance.
(5)The angle gearbox should be debugging once after it is used for 3
months or 1600 hours, and the interspaces of tooth flank should be
0.20-0.35mm, and the contact area should be greater than 60%.

All the components should be washed clean when the right angle
gearbox is assembled. Please notice that the oil in is on the upper of bearing,

and oil gallery is under the bearing. You should adjust the spacer to ensure
the minimum interspaces for less than 60 and the length for less than
70; Zero-load experiment should be carried out in order to ensure the
steady driving, and it should be shook or stocked, and its inequality noise
should be lower than 85 db. When the gear box is disassembled, anchor
bolt on the bearing should be dropped one by one, and the output and input
shaft assembly should be disassemble separately.
All the components should be washed clean when the output and
input shaft assembly is assembled. And the shrunk-on components should
be heated uniformly, when it is heated by machine oil, and the heated
temperature is less than 120C, and heat assemble must be self-cooling,
chilling is not permitted .All the components which is assemble must be
leaning on the shaft back or related fixed location. The minimum interspace
is less than 0.05mm, all the components which is assemble, should be
