Reno Huskie Families,

Week 8 is complete and we made it to October Intercession! As I write this
newsletter we are in the middle of homecoming week. The school spirit and
overall energy in the building has been so fun to witness. When we return from
October Intercession, we will have one week before the quarter ends. This is a
great time to check in on all your classes and attendance to make sure things are
going smoothly. If you ever have a question or issue, please contact us and we will
try to assist in any way we can!

Graduation Date Announced! Tuesday, June

at 9am. Grad
practice is that same morning at 7am. Doors open for family and
friends 45 minutes prior to the ceremony.
All schools rotate graduation days and times each year because our district uses
Lawlor Event Center. This year our date is much later than previous years. I tried
to trade dates with a couple of schools but it did not work out. We will move
ahead and make this graduation ceremony a special one. Thank you for your
patience and understanding.

LOOK, LISTEN, LET SOMEONE KNOW

CAMPAGIN
In partnership with
our WCSD School Police
and Officer Webb, Reno High School will be
joining the LOOK, LISTEN, LET SOMEONE
KNOW campaign that highlights the important
aspects of being a vigilant witness to negative
things happening at our school or out in the
community. We are pushing out discussions
and videos to our Freshmen Seminar classes
and I mentioned it at our first assembly. We
want students to report information when
they witness a crime but we dont want them
confronting verbally or physically. We want
our students to stay safe and report anything
out of the norm to Officer Webb,
Administration or an adult. Please refer to the
link for more information about this campaign:
http://www.washoeschools.net/Page/3445

Additional Details:

Mr. Hackbusch

We love our skateboards but students

should be checking their boards in at the
office and not riding them at lunch. We
want to be good neighbors with our local
businesses who post signs about no
skateboarding.
Be careful in the crosswalks at lunch and
USE the crosswalks at lunch. It is for your
safety.
Check IC regularly. Make sure you are on
top of your studies and that your
attendance is cleared.

Principal friendly
reminders:
We are beginning the new quarter a week after
we return from Fall Break and I wanted to
remind everyone of a few important items that
leads directly to student overall success at Reno
HS.

Be early, not on time. Way too many

tardies. Teachers will refer students with
excessive tardiness to the office, so please
hustle to class!
No hats in the building! We detect nonstudents this way. It is a school safety
measure so leave your hats at home.

Thank you,
