1 .Occupancy and use after completion :-

this
inspection is necessary for the safety of residents and occupants of the
building as the person is not able to use the building and part of building that
is newly erected or installed until requirements set out in this section are
met. 2002,c.9,s.18.. Inspection service is done to insure the construction or
alteration to existing structure according to minimum standards providing by
building codes.

2. Crane runways , solar collector and wind

turbine:- These structures are included in building code for various
purposes and included in building codes to provide safety and minimize the
risk and dangers. Crane runway girders are usually regard as part of building
structure and design accordingly. The parameters are maximum and frequently
occurring weights to be lifted , speed and acceleration . So they are included in
building code for maximum safety .

Solar collector:- they are installed to capture solar radiation for heating
air or water to generate electricity. They must be built in compliance with
construction , electricity and fire codes in order to be safe and reliable . Most
of the standards for solar systems are set forth in national electrical code ,
which provide specification on equipment, installation method and design
protocols. A building permit to install solar collector system with a face area
equals to or greater than 5 m2. A permit is required to ensure that building is
capable of supporting the additional weight of panels and connection
systems.

Wind turbines :- it includes electrical , equipment, height ,noise standards

and signal interference etc. Electrical signal may be established to define
whether wires must be buried or may be allowed overhead. Equipment
standards define the electrical standard by ensuring that any electrical
equipment is located in specific area. Permiting process allows local
government to review and regulate wind energy developments. A structure
support s a wind turbine having output more then 3kW.

3. Chief building official:-

the minister is responsible for

the administration of this act .There shall be a director of the building and
development branch of ministry affair and housing cbo is appointed by

Lieutenant Governor in council. The council of each municipality shall appoint a

chief building official and such inspectors as necessary for the enforcement of
this act in the areas in which the municipality has jurisdiction. 1992,c.23,s.3(2).
Responsibility of CBO is:A) to establish operational policies for
enforcement of this act and building code within the jurisdiction applicable.
B) To coordinate and oversee the enforcement of this act and the building
code within the
jurisdiction applicable.
C) To exercise the power and perform the other duties assigned to him/her
under this act and the building code.
D) To exercise the power and perform duties in accordance with the standards
established by the applicable code of conduct.

4. Green construction :- sustainable building refers to structure

and using of process that are environmental friendly and resource efficient
throughout building life cycle. It is wide technology covering everything from
energy efficient appliances to geothermal building materials . this practice
expands and compliment the classical building design concern of economy ,
utility , durability and comfort
Benefits :- a) Green building is cost effective . It reduce day to day cost year
over year.
b)They use natural resource efficiently, lowering both utility bills and harmful
impacts on the environment.
c) protecting occupant health and improving employee productivity.

5. Sustainability :It refers to the adoption of building design and

construction methods and materials that are environmental friendly . it
also means using materials and resources that have sustainable supplies
and are available from many sources. Through sustainable construction
we will do our part to optimize the use of natural resources via recycling
and reuse of materials.
