ABSTRACT
Today, fault record function of numerical relay provides comprehensive fault reporting data in the
analytical performance of power system faults and relay operations. When a fault has occurred, an
operator obtains the most precise fault location to search for possible damage on the line and to reduce
power cut time. In this paper, some of the events of relay P123, SEL421, 7SA522 and 7SD522 are
recorded through the Comtrade data format. With the specialized Sigra 4 software designed for
universal management, display and analyses of relay fault records, it is possible to provide desired
precision for the utility personnel in terms of time signal representation, inputs, outputs, protection
function signaling, breaker status, and symmetrical components of current and voltage. Consequently,
they enable operators to reduce time and cost for fault recovery. Keywords: Transmission line;
