CHAPTER I- INTODUCTION

In our modern society today, computers have been necessity for

business. Almost all the people in all business firms rely on computer for
efficient and effective way to handle different loads and task most especially
for business that are working with sales cashiering, as well as billing.
We are now in modernized world. Almost all countries use computers in
their transaction even at home because computers have a big role in our
lives. In every year theres a new technology invented. Many establishments
like malls, banks, hotels, hospitals, schools, department store use a
computerized system. It helps them to lessen their job, avoid time
consumption that makes the work easy and fast and it can organize the data
properly.
Almost major businesses in other country uses computerized system;
computerized system provided them efficiency in terms of business
operations because of computerization their business have grown successful.
Thus, even on locations that are distant from business locality can be
monitored due to the use of technology.
The Johnny Motor Parts is a small business here in Gensan, located at
NLSA Road, Lagao, General Santos City. They started their business last year
2014. In terms of accepting orders and computation of customer charges,
the process manually prepared.
Project Context
In the business world technology has played a significance role. Since
the concept or the flow of transaction has continuously evolved. From the
primitive ways of exchanging goods or barter system, to more complex ecommerce or doing business transactions are established with the help of
the internet. We live in a fast-changing world where computers and other
types of new technologies are part of our everyday life. Automation of ones

point of sales puts a businessman step ahead in a game. It helps him

conduct business transactions with ease as he only have to press a few keys.
It liberates you from countless paper works as computation of the days sale
and keeping track of inventory are done automatically.
For the transaction of the business to become efficient, point of sale
system should be adapted. Hence, the researcher proposed all the
automated system of Johnny Motor Parts. The business center is located in
NLSA Road, Lagao, General Santos City.
This study was conducted to provide answers to the problems
encountered during inventory. With the success of this proposed program,
the business would alse be successful in its operation where both clients will
gain satisfaction.
Point of sale will be great help for JOHNNY MOTOR PARTS it is a Pharmacy
store that sells medicine like capsule, syrup and etc. This study was located
at NLSA Road, Lagao, General Santos City. The company was owned by
__________________. It was build since ____ almost ___ years of operation. The
company uses calculator as a medium of their calculation or products. Point
of sale can be a great help for the company. It provides as easy to use
computer that makes everyday transactions more convenient and less hassle
not only to the company but also to the customer. This project was intended
to automate transactions fast and easy for the benefits of the company and
to the customers. The system provides the establishment convenience and
quality of service and makes its transaction faster, easier and accurate.
Purpose and Description of the Project
The purpose of my proposed system is to make assured you that the
establishment (Johnny Motor Parts) is very helpful most especially into the
customer/ client satisfaction. It easy to find and keep on their importance
details or every activities or every individuals through using the by the
computerized system, Point of Sales are already to operate in every

individual transaction very well and accurately. They have the capacity to
accommodate customer/client. The customer/client is well arrange and
manage in every transaction through services and uses some techniques and
uniqueness for advances advantage unto the target market. Some features
seen on their point of sales are file maintenance including customer info,
employee info, product, services, Packages, transaction, availment, billing
and the last report of the program system through using by the computer.
Objectives of the Project
The main object of my proposed study is to provide a program to help the
establishment in their operation particularly is record management and
computation of customer changes. Especially this study aims to:
Provide database storage of records for customer, products, category,
services
Create a program that will compute accurate customer changes
Create a system than can provide reports deemed necessary such as

list of products
list of customer
Bill statement
Collection report

Statement of the problem

The problems in point of sales process of the store were observed
during the data gathering phase are as follows:

Manual Operation of Point of Sale

Time consuming in the accomplishment of transaction
Inaccurate and inconvenient sales and stocks
Difficult in keeping of inventory records of products

Scope and limitations

The scope of the study well focuses on designing automated Point of
Sales appropriate for the needs of Johnny Motor Parts.

The system also provides a user friendly interface resulting in easy

familiarization to be fully oriented with its usable feature.

This system is made to help the company in tracking records of
customers. It produces reports such as list of customer, product sales,

collectibles, and Customer ledger and customer payments.

The system could handle data entry for customer credit and will
impose the prescribed interest. Should the customer fall to pay after
the due date; the principal amount will incur additional interest.

However, the system is not capable of accepting and performing the

following:

Sales return as their policy is no return no exchange

Product Inventory
Check or credit card payments

CHAPTER II- REVIEW RELATED LITERATURE

customer information.

of business from the major supermarkets to the family-run corner store. From
a simple bar code reader to a sophisticated ePOS station, integrating POS
into the business is often the key to increased sales efficiency and higher
profits. In an economy that's demanding 24-hour opening, data connections
between the online or in-store sales counter and back office have to be
secure, reliable and cost-efficient.
