1. Choose only one president among the presidents of the Philippines.
If I were to choose one president among the presidents of the
Philippines, I would choose the late President Ferdinand Emmanuel Edralin
Marcos Sr. He was the 10 th president of the Republic of the Philippines. He
assumed the office from December 30, 1965 to February 25, 1986.
2. Give some achievements during his or her term.
In my research, through reading some articles about the late President
Marcos, I have learned that he was able to build several infrastructures like the
LRT, MRT, major thoroughfares and hi-ways, buildings, national hospitals,
schools and many other. It was during his regime when our country was
considered as one of the flourishing countries in Asia. Our peso compared to
other currencies stands out. Our educational system (2 2 Plan) during his
time is very strong. Graduates that were produced were very competitive not
just in our country but also all over the world.
3. What were the problems / anomalies/ issues he / she faced?
His declaration of Martial Law in his attempt to control the coup plot led
only to his exile from the Malacaang palace. He faced allegations from his
detractors that he is but a corrupt leader of our country, a dictator and a
tyrant. He was sued for the ill gotten wealth his family accumulated.
4. What made him/her better than the other presidents?
I believe he is far better than the other presidents because of the things
he had accomplished. While he was thrown several accusations, still, in terms
of his accomplishments he was the only President who made the largest
infrastructure establishments in our country, which up to now we enjoyed
using and it was all for our own convenience.
