GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The ECOSMART PB series is SF6 gas insulated switch disconnector manufactured and developed in
accordance with the following IEC standards:

disconnectors and earthing switches I
High-voltage switchgear and controlgear Part 103: Switches for rated voltages

The ECOSMART PB is a 3 position SF6 gas insulated switch-disconnector with closed-sectionalizedearth positions. The switch-disconnector is housed inside a welded stainless steel tank filled with SF6
gas with pressure of 0,4 bar at 20C. The SF6 filling valve is positioned on the tank behind the operating
mechanism. The metallic tank ensures the full earthing and the LSC2A-PM condition is granted when it
is assembled inside a medium voltage panel. The line and the earth contacts are driven by a 3 position
operating mechanisms with two different operating lever seats mechanically interlocked.

The ECOSMART switch-disconnector series is suitable for

installation inside the medium voltage panels of the series
ECOSMART MIX up to 24kV.

Mechanical interlocks ensure the correct operational

sequences preventing any possible unsafe conditions for the
operator.
Mechanical interlocks between line contacts and earth
position, earth position and panel door are provided.
The switch-disconnectors is removable to make maintenance
operations and easier replacements. The volume of SF6
is very low with a maximum quantity of 200g. N. 6 epoxy
resin insulators provide the supports for the busbars and
cables connections. The cables side insulators are integrated
with capacitor dividers to supply the voltage signal to the
presence voltage device. The range offers two types of
switch-disconnectors, one used for the incoming/outgoing
feeder and circuit breaker cubicles and the other combined
with medium voltage fuses for transformer protection. The
line and fuses switches-disconnectors are arranged to host
auxiliary accessories that can be assembled upon customer
request.

The ECOSMART PB protection classes comply with IEC 60529 standards, it is a switch-disconnector
series for indoor installation and it offers the following degrees of protection:
IP 67 SF6 tank
IP 2XC with panels door open
IP 3X with panels door closed.

ENVIRONMENT AND OPERATION CONDITIONS

The ECOSMART PB switch-disconnector can operate in normal conditions as described inside the IEC
standards 62271-1. Operation and installation conditions that deviate from those specified and reported
here below are not allowed and they must be asked to TOZZI ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT.

ECOSMART PB

The fuse switch-disconnector is equipped with an air insulated earth switch positioned after the fuses
holders. When the 3 position switch is operated to get the earth position, the air insulated earth switch
moves simultaneously to the closed position. Both sides of the medium voltage fuses are thus completely
grounded.

medium voltage fuses must be selected as per below table. For different applications and performances
