WHAT IS KARATE FOR CHRIST?

Karate for Christ is an outreach ministry of the Church. It offers karate training to participants in a
Christian atmosphere.
The style of karate taught is Wado Ryu (a Japanese style). Learn more about it on the internet at :

REQUIREMENTS

All students are encouraged to attend a Bible believing Church. We currently have members who
attend many different denominations.

Everyone should bring a Bible to class. If you cannot afford a Bible, KFC will give you one, free of
charge.

Everyone must purchase a mouthpiece. Available at Wal-Mart for approximately $2.00 (not required
for the first month of attendance).

Children must know their left from their right and be able to count to ten. Adults and children attend
the same class. Typical earliest age is a mature 5 year old, a parent must attend or participate with
children under 7.

TYPICAL CLASS
Each class starts with a devotion from the Bible and prayer requests. All our devotions center
around the fact that Jesus is the one true Son of the Living God, and that He died to save us from
our sins.
All students line up, by rank, and the bowing in ceremony starts the class.
We start with warm up exercises (Junbi-Undo) with all students participating at their level of physical
capability.
Karate techniques, including striking, kicking and grappling, are taught at several skill levels.
Kata (Combinations of offensive and defensive techniques) are taught at several skill levels.
Free-Sparing is taught, but no full contact is allowed.
We finish with cooling down exercises.
All students line up, by rank, and class ends with the bowing out ceremony
