Theformulasshownabovedonotgiveustheexactnumberonanactualsquareof9.Itisan

approximation(orperhapsmoreaccuratelyviceversa).Ihavealwaysusedtheabove
formualawithgreatsuccess.Thatsaid,however,therearethosewhoinsistonfindingthe
actualnumberthatwouldbeinaparticularcellonanactualsquareofnine.With(more
effort)thiscanbedoneasDanielFerraraexplainsinthepostbelow:

Inmyexperiencewithworkingwiththis(squareof9)method,price&time
mustbalanceonahardaspect.Thehardaspectsare45,90,135,180,225,270,
315and360or0degrees.Themostimportantbeingthesquaresor90deg
harmonics(0,90,180,270).Intermsofselectingapastdateandpricetostart
from,Ihavefoundthatthelowestlowoverthepast365daysandthehighest
highoverthepast365dayshavethegreatestinfluenceonthesebalancepoints.
Thistechniquecanbeusedtogeneratethehorizontalsupport&resistancelevels
forintradaytrading.
Thisisextremelyusefulwhenyouanticipatethataparticulardaywillbea
trendchangeastheresultofcyclesortimecounts,etc.
Onanothernote,Idonotagreewiththeformulayouhavebelow:MOD
360[180*abs(pricedistanceorTimedistance)225].Forwhatyouareassuming,
itshouldread=MOD360((pricedistanceorTimechange)^0.5*180225).
ThisisbasedonCarlFutia'sformula.However,thisformulaassumesthatthe
SquaresofEvennumbersfallonthe135degangleandthattheSquaresofOdd
numbersfallonthe315degangle,whichisnottrueonGann'sactualSquareof
Ninechart.Ifyoustartwitha"1"inthecenter,theSquaresofOddnumberswill
fallonthe315degangle,buttheEvenSquares(16,36,64,100,144....)will
graduallyfloattowards135degrees.Forexample,ontheactualSquareofNine,
16isonthe112.50degangle,36isonthe120degangle,64isonthe123.75
degangle,100isonthe126degangleand144isonthe127.50degangleand
soon.
Startingwith"0"inthecenter,theSquaresofEvennumberswilllineuponthe
135degangleandtheSquaresofOddnumberswillFloat.Couldthisamountof
inaccuracyor"LostMotion"beimportant?Afterall,itisimpossibletodrawor
actuallybuildaSquareofNineChartbasedontheMOD360formulaabove.If
youwanttoworkwithcalculationsthatarebasedonW.D.Gann'sprinted
SquareofNinechart,thefollowingformulaswillbeofgreatusetoyour
research:

number,i.e.iteliminatesthedecimals}

315degAngle.Thisisthemostaccurateangleoftheentirechartandisusedto
calculateallothervalues.TheSquaresofOddnumbersareallonthisangle.
315degAngle=(Ring#*2+1) 2.Example,390wasinring#10sothe315deg
numberis(10*2+1)^2orsimply(21)^2=441
TheZeroAngleonthisRing=((Ring#*2+1) 2)(7*ring#).Soyouwouldget

YoumayhavetooccasionallyadjusttheAnglecalculationbecausesometimes
youwillgetanegativevaluewhenyouhaveanumberthatisapproachingthe
0degangleofthenextring.Forexampleweknowthat371isazerodeg
number.Ifyoutrytofindtheangleofthenumber370.5,whichisanumberin

thepreviousringapproachingthenextring,yougetSum((370.5371)/
(10/45))=2.25deg.Ifyougetanegativenumber,justadd360tocorrectit.So
thiswouldactuallybe357.75deg.
AsimpleformulatocorrectthisisIfAngle<0then+360elseAngle=Angle.
TogenerateothervaluesontheSquare,usethisformula:(Ring#*2+1) 2)(7*
Ring#)+((Ring#/45)*Angle)
Angleisthisformualisyourinputvalue.Forexample,weknowthat390ison
the85.50degangle.Ifwewanttoknowthevalueofthenumberthatis45deg
tothisnumber,wewouldbeinterestedintheangleof130.50deg(85.5+45).
Inputingthisintheaboveformulagivesus:(10*2+1) 2 (7*10)+((10/45)*
130.5).Simplifiedalittle,wehave371+(28.99971)=399.99is45degto390.
Keepinmindthatifyouaddorsubtractanamountthatwillchangethe
originalangle(85.5deg)toanamountgreaterthan360orlessthan0,thatyou
JUMPrings.Forexample,ifyousubtract90degfrom85.5topotentiallyfinda
squareaspect,youget4.5deg.Add360gives355.50deginthepreviousring.
WewereusingRing#10intheformula,butforthiscalculation,wewouldhave
touseRing#9.Similarly,ifyouadded315degto85.5deg,youget400.50,
whichis40.5deginthenextring.Soyouwouldhavetousering#11forthis
