I have here our volcanic 3D.

This is what a volcano looks like

EXPLANATION: A volcano looks like a mountain, although they are two different things. A
mountain is a large natural rise of the earth's surface, more like a giant heap of sand. Whereas, A
volcano is also like a big heap of earth just that this heap is a mixture of lava, ash, dust, and other
substances that have piled up over many years.

TRIVIA:
Did you know?

The biggest volcano in the world is Mauna Loa in Hawaii. Its whole volume is
about 80,000 cubic kilometres.
I will show to you the erupting volcano.
(ACTUAL)
Why do volcanoes erupt?
EXPLANATION: Volcanoes erupt because of density and pressure. The lower density of the
magma relative to the surrounding rocks causes it to rise (like air bubbles in syrup). It will rise to
the surface or to a depth that is determined by the density of the magma and the weight of the
rocks above it. As the magma rises, bubbles start to form from the gas dissolved in the magma.
The gas bubbles exert tremendous pressure. This pressure helps to bring the magma to the
surface and forces it in the air, sometimes to great heights.

An erupting volcano can trigger earthquakes, tsunamis, flash floods, mud

flows and rock falls

Types of volcano
EXPLANATION
Cinder cone: When lava is ejected into the air above, the fragments and fine particles fall as

cinders (ash) around the vent, forming a cone. The height of cinder cones usually depend on how
long the eruption takes and how much lava comes out.
Shield: Because the lava flows easily, it can move down gradual slopes over great distances from
the volcanic vents. The lava flows are sufficiently slow for humans to outrun or outwalk them.

Composite: These eruptions create steep sided cones. They can also create lava flows, hot ash
clouds called pyroclastic flows and dangerous mudflows called lahars.

EARTHQUAKES
EXPLANATION : (11 slides)
It can be caused by the sudden slippage of rocks along a fault. The movement of the rocks can be
vertical or horizontal.
(12 slides )Earthquakes come in many forms. It can be felt as a shock under your
feet, or may be very powerful and destructive enough to flatten an entire city. They
can happen anywhere, land or sea.
(13 slides) The point of origin of an earthquake is called the 'focus', while the
point directly above it, on the surface of the earth is called the 'epicenter'.

TSUNAMI
EXPLANATION:
Tsunamis may also be caused by underwater landslides or volcanic eruptions. Water level can
rise as high as 100ft, even though it can look like only a foot or two from above. Its erroneously
called tidal waves are huge waves generated when occur near or beneath ocean floor.s
