E/I/A Reliability Summer Coop
May 2016 August 2016
Upgraded obsoleted Benezene PLC ladder control systems and embedded them into new stripping systems
Replaced 2 obsoleted level transmitters on the above benzene pots and updated their P&ID
Solved an unreliable control scheme on an ethylene tank's foundation heater to reduce power consumption and
executed project that installed a more reliable control and brought the control to the DCS system
Upgraded an obsoleted power meter system to a more reliable system that was compatible with the DCS system,
which reduce human resources to retrieve monthly power consumption
Updated P&ID, loop sheets and procedure for 15 newly installed instruments
Identified solutions, scope of work and cost estimate for upgrading and installing new instrumentations that was more
reliable with newer technology and saved the company $50,000 - $100,000

Project
Laser Reaction Game
Fall 2015
Designed a laser game which will randomly light up 9 LEDs one by one and users have to react to it
Used STM Nucleo F411RE microcontroller, two CD4055 7-segment drivers, two 7-segment displays, two 74LS93
Binary Counter, nine LEDs, resistors, photoresistors and SCR
Integrated SCR circuit to reduced power consumption by almost 30% and increase the machine reaction time
Vending Machine
Spring 2015
Designed next-state logic expressions and transition diagram for a virtual vending machines embedded system
Embedded VHDL code on DE2 Board using Altera Quatus II CAD tool.
Improved performance by optimizing 20% machine states and gates resulting in faster response time
Infrared Transmitter
Spring 2015
Designed and assembled LED transmission circuits to establish a 6-inch signal transmission line
Reduced power consumption and established a new band pass mode for more flexible transmissions
