HYDRANTS & ACCESSORIES - EQUIPMENT CABINETS

Progard offers standard and custom built storage cabinets to suit individual requirements. These cabinets
are able to contain various portable fire fighting equipment such as fire hoses, handline nozzles, foam
branchpipes, portable monitors, hydrant and nozzle wrenches, eductors and waterway apparatus.
Due to their robust construction, selective cabinets with marine painting system are offered for use in
offshore installations, petrochemical plants, marine docks, airports and manufacturing facilities. Subject to
special paint application, these cabinets are protected against corrosion and weathering.
Typically, the cabinets are manufactured in mild (or carbon) steel material. Option to specify stainless steel
304SS or 316SS material. Standard finish is red paint.

CONTINUOUS FLOW REELS

Progard continuous flow hose reels are designed for industrial applications where longer lengths of hoses are required.
Suitable for floor or wall installation. Used with non-collapsible hoses to provide operation of hose streams for firefighting or
washdown application. A pin lock locks the reel in place to prevent drum from rotating when not in use.
The hose reels have a solid frame and drum assembly that rest on a supporting stand with self-aligning pillow blocks to
support the drum assembly. The 2 hose reels are provided with ball bearing pillow blocks.

FIRE FIGHTING HOSES

The Progard range of fire fighting hoses is acceptable to users in many industries including public fire brigades and
defense organisations, government departments, petrochemical plants, offshore installations, marine docks, airports and
industrial environments.
These fire hoses offer excellent heat resistance against accidental contacts with hot embers, oil, chemical resistant
against a wide range of chemicals as well as resistant against abrasion, ozone and atmospheric weathering at both low and
high temperatures. The hoses are also maintenance-free, do not require any drying, and are unaffected by mildew. The
hoses are constructed with an all synthetic woven textile reinforcement and is encased in a blend of high tensile PVC/Nitrile
rubber which forms a unified lining and cover.
Economical fire hoses are also available for normal fire fighting applications in industrial and commercial environments.
The hoses are weaved from polyester fibre yarns and incorporates an internal rubber lining. The working pressure on these
hoses is lower at 13 bar.
All fire hoses are available with different types of couplings that include standard industrial British BS336 instantaneous,
German storz, Dutch storz, American NST or French guillemin. Couplings can be supplied in either light alloy, cast brass or
gunmetal material.

HYDRANTS & ACCESSORIES - FIREWATER HYDRANTS

Progard offers cast or fabricated hydrants that are either custom built to specification or to comply to individual
requirements. These hydrants can be equipped with various types of ball, gate or landing valves. After fabrication, the
hydrants are subject to a hydrostatic test for leaks. On fabricated steel hydrants, surface preparation is done by hot-dipped
galvanising, epoxy coating or sandblasting to SA2.5 specification. The standard exterior colour is red (or yellow) enamel
paint.
Progard hydrants are suitable for installation in industries such as petrochemical plants, marine docks, airports and
manufacturing facilities. A special marine painting system is available to offer protection in harsh and corrosive
environments. Typically, these hydrants are available in cast iron or fabricated steel material. Option to specify stainless
steel 304 SS or 316 SS material.

DRY BARREL (TRAFFIC) HYDRANTS
Dry barrel (traffic) Fire Hydrants from Progard, are manufactured to AWWA C502 specifications. The hydrants are
simple in design, easy to install, maintain and repair. Hydrant body incorporates a breakable coupling to minimise damage
from traffic accidents and includes features like tamper resistant quarter turn hose and steamer nozzles, unique pressure
activated bronze drain valve, bronze to bronze seating and a full cover bottom plate to prevent main valve distortion and
positive stop against the elbow.
Standard hydrant details include 5 valve opening (or 4), 1 pentagon operating stem nut (open left), 6 ANSI FF
flanged elbow and bury depth 42 (1066 mm). Hose nozzles (two) are 2-1/2 NST male. Steamer nozzle is 4 male NST
outlet. All nozzles have caps and chains. Upper barrel only is supplied painted red. All hydrants are subject to 400 psi (27.5
bar) leakage test pressure. The recommended working pressure is 200 psi (13.7 bar ) for AWWA and 175 psi (12 bar) for
UL/FM models.
