1 Introduction

Cable Remote Control

The CLIKRTM-5 UR5U-8780L & UR5U-8790L is

designed to operate the CISCO / SA, Pioneer,
Pace Micro, Samsung and Motorola digital
set tops, Plus the majority of TV, VCR, DVD
and AUX equipment on the market as
shown below.

2 Replacing Batteries
Before you program or operate the remote control,
you must install two new AA alkaline batteries.

STEP2 Press and hold the [DEVICE] key for 5 seconds until the
Device LED will blink once and stays on. Continue to
hold the [DEVICE] key and press the number key
assigned to your brand in the Quick Set-up Code Table
and release both [DEVICE] key and the number key to
save the code. The Device LED will blink twice to confirm that the code is stored.
STEP3 Point the remote control at the component.
STEP4 Press the power button. If it turns off, it is programmed for your component. If it does not
turn off, use the Pre-Programmed 3-Digit
code Method or Scanning Method.
Repeat the above steps for all other components
(TV, VCR, DVD, etc.).

B. Quick Set-up Code Tables

5 Programming the Remote Control

3 Operations
DEFAULT STATE:
Device Default: Cable Set-Top Box (STB)
Channel Default: CABLE channel and numbers through
the CABLE STB. You have the option of controlling your
CABLE channel and numbers through the TV or VCR.
Refer to section I for programming steps.
Volume Default: Volume and Mute control are
automatically transferred to the respective
Component based on the Device selected:

CBL:TV ; TV:TV ; VCR:TV. DVD:TV ; AUX:AUX. You

have the option of controlling CABLE Volume and
Mute through the TV, VCR or AUX. Refer to section H for programming steps.

IMPORTANT SETUP NOTE!

In this section when you are instructed to press a [DEVICE] button, that means to press either the CBL, TV, VCR,
DVD or AUX button, depending on what device you are programming the remote to operate.
There are three ways you can program your remote:
* Quick Set-Up Method
* The Pre-Programmed 3-Digit Code Method
* The Auto-Search Method
The Quick Set-Up Method is a unique feature that enables the fastest and easiest setup by using a 1 digit code.
This is the quickest way to set up devices made by popular manufacturers.
The Pre-Programmed Code Method allows you to setup all of the buttons at once by entering 3-digit code
numbers that correspond with the components manufacturer/brand. Code tables for this method are on the
backside of the operating instructions.
The Auto-Search Method scans through all of the codes in the remote control, one at a time allowing you to
identify the correct code.
IMPORTANT SETUP NOTE!
This pertains to all programming steps. When you are in setup mode the device LED will light for 30 seconds. If you do
not press a button within 30 seconds, the LED light will turn off and exit setup mode, and you will need to start over.

A. Quick Set-Up Method

Turn on the component you want to program. To program your TV, turn on the TV.

C. Pre-Programmed 3-Dight Code Method

STEP1 Turn on the equipment that you want the remote
control to operate (Cable Box, TV, VCR, DVD, etc.).
STEP2 Press the [DEVICE] button and the [OK/SEL]
button simultaneously for three seconds. The
corresponding device LED will turn on indicating
that it is ready to be programmed. The LED will
remain on for 30 seconds. The next step must
be entered while the LED is on.
STEP3 Point the remote control toward the equipment
and enter the three-digit code number
assigned to your brand from the code tables. If
there are more than one three-digit number listed
for your brand, try one code number at a time
until your equipment turns off.
*Note : You can verify that you have selected the correct
code by pressing the [POWER] button. The equipment
should turn back on. Then try all of the functions on
the remote control (i.e. volume, mute, etc.) to ensure
you have the correct code. If any of the functions do
not operate as they should, repeat the instructions
from STEP 3 above using the next three digit code
number from the brand list.
STEP4 Store the three-digit code by pressing the
same [DEVICE] button once again. The
device LED will blink twice to confirm that the
code has been stored.

D. Auto-Search Method
If none of the three digit code numbers assigned to
your brand of equipment works, or the code table
does not list your brand, you can use the Auto
Search Method to find the correct three-digit code
number for your equipment by following steps:
STEP1 Turn on the equipment that you want the
remote control to operate (Cable Box, TV,
VCR, DVD, etc.).
STEP2 Press the [DEVICE] button and the [OK/SEL]
button simultaneously for three seconds.
The device LED will turn on indicating that it
is ready to be programmed. The LED will
remain on for 30 seconds. The next step
must be entered while the LED is on.
STEP3 Press the [CH5] or [CH6] button one at a
time or keep it pressed. The remote will
emit a series of Power ON/OFF code signals.
Release the [CH5] or [CH6] button as soon
as the equipment turns off.
*Note : You can verify that you have selected the correct
code by pressing the [POWER] button. The
equipment should turn back on. Then try all of the
functions on the remote control (i.e. volume,
mute, etc.) to ensure you have the correct code. If
any of the functions do not operate as they should,
repeat the instructions from STEP 3 above to
continue the Auto Search Method.
STEP4 Press the same [DEVICE] button to store the
code. The Device LED will blink twice to
confirm that the code has been stored.

E. To Identify the 3-Digit Code

Programmed for a Device
STEP1 Press the appropriate [DEVICE] button and
the [OK/SEL] button simultaneously for three
seconds. The device LED will turn on for 30
seconds. The next step must be performed
while the LED is on.
STEP2 Press the [INFO] button. The device LED
will blink a number of times indicating the
number of each digit for the code. Each
digit is separated by a one second interval
of the LED being off.

Example : One blink, (pause) three blinks, (pause) eight

blinks indicates the code number 138.
*Note : Ten blinks indicates the number 0.

F. Programming the AUX Device

You can take advantage of the AUX function to program
a devices such as a media PC, gaming console or
satellite radio receiver. Follow the instruction in section
C to program an AUX device. You can also program the
AUX button for a second TV, VCR or DVD player. To do
this follow the instructions below.
STEP1 Turn on the 5th device you want to program
(TV, VCR, DVD, etc.).
STEP2 Press the [AUX] button and the [OK/SEL]
button simultaneously for 3 seconds. The
[AUX] device LED will turn on for 30 seconds.
STEP3 Press the [Device] button For the type of
device you want to setup. Point the remote
control toward the device and enter the
3-digit code number assigned to your brand.
*Note : To program a second TV press TV, etc.
STEP4 When the equipment turns off verify that you
have selected the correct code by pressing the
[POWER] button. The equipment should turn
back on. Then try all of the functions on the
remote control (i.e. volume, mute, etc.) to
ensure you have the correct code. If any of the
functions do not operate as they should, enter
the next 3-digit code number from the brand list.
STEP5 Once you have found the correct 3-digit
code, save it by pressing the [AUX] button
one more time. The [AUX] LED light will blink
twice to confirm the code was stored.

G. Programming the System On/Off Button

This allows you to program the System On/Off button
so it can send up to five power On/Off commands
with one button press.
STEP1 Press the [CBL] button.
STEP2 Press the [SYSTEM ON/OFF] button and the
[OK/SEL] button simultaneously for 3 seconds.
The [CBL] button will turn on for 30 seconds.
STEP3 Press the first [DEVICE] button you want to
store in the [SYSTEM ON/OFF] button and
then press [POWER]. Repeat this for the
other components you want to turn on/off
with the [SYSTEM ON/OFF] button.
STEP4 Press the [CH5] button to save the power
commands you stored. The [CBL] button
will blink twice to confirm the commands
have been saved.

H. Programming Volume Control

Volume and Mute control are factory programmed
to automatically transfer to the respective Device
mode You select, as follows:
CBL : TV
T V : TV
VCR : TV
DVD : TV
AUX : AUX
If you wish to store the CBL volume control in
CBL mode, use the following steps.
STEP1 Press the [OK/SEL] button and [CBL] button
simultaneously for three seconds. The device
LED will turn on for 30 seconds. The next step
must be performed while the LED is on.
STEP2 Press the [VOL5] button. The device
LED will blink.
STEP3 Press [CBL] button. The device LED will blink
twice to confirm the programming.
*Note : To return CBL device to TV volume repeat steps
above replacing [CBL] with [TV] in Step 3.

I. Programming Channel Control

You can program the channel controls (Channel Up,
Channel Down, Last and Numbers) from one Device to
operate in another Device mode. Default channel
control settings on the remote control are as follows:
CBL : CBL T V : CBL
VCR : CBL
DVD : DVD AUX : AUX
If you wish to store the TV channel controls in TV mode,
use the following steps.
STEP1 Press the [OK/SEL] button and [TV] button
simultaneously for three seconds. The device
LED will turn on for 30 seconds. The next step
must be performed while the LED is on.
STEP2 Press the [VOL6] button. The device LED
will blink.
STEP3 Press [TV] button. The device LED will blink
twice to confirm the programming.
*Note : To return TV device to CBL channel repeat
steps above replacing [TV] with [CBL] in
Step 3.

If your remote model has custom-programmable

Macro buttons available(See Section 4), they can be
programmed to act as a Macro or Favorite Channel
button in CABLE mode. This allows you to program up to
five 2-digit channels, four 3-digit channels or three 4-digit
channels that can be accessed with one button press.
STEP1 Press the [CBL] button to select the CBL mode.
STEP2 Press the [MACRO] button and [OK/SEL]
button simultaneously for 3 seconds. The
[CBL] button will turn on for 30 seconds.
STEP3 Enter the the 2, 3 or 4-digit code for the
channel you want programmed first (for
example, 007) using the Number Pad, then
press the [STOP] button. Then enter the
code for the next channel (for example,
050), then press the [STOP] button. Repeat
this process for the third channel. The [CBL]
button will blink once for each channel
entered.
STEP4 Press the [CH5] button to store the channels
that were selected. The [CBL] button
will blink twice to confirm the storage of
commands.

To access the programmed channels, press the

[MACRO] button once. This will bring up the first
channel. Press once again and it will bring up the
second channel. Press again and it will bring up the
third channel.

2 times in sequence whenever a [POWER] button is

from the remote control.

componente, el control remoto est programado. Si
no se apaga el componente, por favor use el mtodo
de tres dgitos o el mtodo de exploracin.
Repita los pasos anteriores para el resto de los
componentes(TV, VCR, DVD, etc.).

1 Introduccin

NOTA IMPORTANTE PARA LA CONFIGURACIN!

En esta seccin siempre que se le indique presionar el botn [APARATO], se refiere a presionar el botn de cualquiera
de los siguientes: CBL, TV, VCR, DVD o AUX, segn el aparato que desee programar en el control remoto.
Existen tres formas de programar su control remoto:
*Mtodo de configuracin rpida
*Mtodo de cdigo de 3 dgitos preprogramado
*Mtodo de bsqueda automtica
El Mtodo de configuracin rpida es una caracterstica nica que permite una rpida y fcil configuracin utilizando
un cdigo de 1 dgito. Esta es la manera ms rpida de configurar aparatos hechos por los fabricantes ms populares.
El Mtodo de cdigo preprogramado le permite configurar todos los botones a la vez ingresando un cdigo
de 3 dgitos que corresponde a las marcas o fabricantes de sus componentes. Las tablas para este mtodo
se encuentran al reverso del manual de instrucciones.
El Mtodo de bsqueda automtica explora a travs de todos los cdigos del control remoto uno a uno, lo cual
permite que usted identifique el cdigo correcto.
NOTA IMPORTANTE PARA LA CONFIGURACIN!
Esto se refiere a todos los pasos de programacin. Cuando usted se encuentre en el modo de configuracin, la luz del
indicador LED del aparato se encender durante 30 segundos. Si usted no presiona un botn durante 30 segundos, la
luz del indicador se apagar y saldr del modo de configuracin, y usted deber empezar nuevamente.

A. Mtodo Rpido de Programacin

PASO1 Encienda el componente que va programar. Para programar el televisor, encienda el televisor.

PASO1 Encienda el equipo que desee operar con el

control remoto (Decodificador, TV, DVD, etc.).
PASO2 Presione simultneamente los botones
[APARATO] y [OK/SEL] durante 3 segundos. El
correspondiente indicador LED del aparato se
encender, lo cual indica que est listo para
programarse. El indicador LED permanecer
encendido durante 30 segundos. El siguiente
paso debe realizarse mientras el indicador LED
est encendido.
PASO3 Apunte el control remoto hacia el equipo e
ingrese el cdigo de tres dgitos que se asigna
a su marca segn la tabla de cdigos. Si hay
ms de un cdigo de tres dgitos asignado a su
marca, intente los cdigos uno por uno hasta
que su equipo se apague.
*Nota: Usted puede verificar si ha seleccionado el cdigo
correcto presionando el botn [POWER]. El
equipo deber encenderse nuevamente. Luego
intente todas las funciones del control remoto(por
ejemplo: volumen, silencio, etc.) para asegurarse de
que ingres el cdigo correcto. Si alguna de las
funciones no funciona como es debido, repita las
instrucciones desde el PASO 3 antes mencionado,
usando el siguiente cdigo de 3 dgitos del listado
de marcas.
PASO4 Almacene el cdigo de 3 dgitos presionando el
mismo botn de [APARATO] nuevamente. El
indicador LED parpadear dos veces para
confirmar que el cdigo se ha almacenado.

D. Mtodo de bsqueda automtica

Si ninguno de los cdigos de tres dgitos asignados a la
marca de su equipo funciona, o su marca no ha sido
incluida en la tabla de cdigos, usted puede utilizar el
Mtodo de bsqueda automtica para encontrar el
cdigo de tres dgitos correcto para su equipo, realizando
los tres siguientes pasos:
PASO1 Encienda el equipo que desee operar con el
control remoto (Decodificador, TV, DVD, etc.).
PASO2 Presione simultneamente los botones
[APARATO] y [OK/SEL] durante 3 segundos.
El correspondiente indicador LED del aparato

se encender indicando que est listo para

programarse. El indicador LED permanecer
encendido durante 30 segundos. El siguiente
paso debe realizarse mientras el indicador
LED est encendido.
PASO3 Presione los botones [CH5] o [CH6] uno por uno
o mantngalo presionado. El control remoto
emitir una serie de seales codificadas para
encender o apagar el equipo. Suelte el botn
[CH5] o [CH6] una vez que el equipo se apague.
*Nota: Usted puede verificar si ha seleccionado el cdigo
correcto presionando el botn [POWER]. El equipo
deber encenderse nuevamente. Luego intente todas
las funciones del control remoto (por ejemplo: volumen,
silencio, etc.) para asegurarse de que ingres el
cdigo correcto. Si alguna de las funciones no funciona
como es debido, repita las instrucciones desde el
PASO3 antes mencionado para continuar con el
Mtodo de bsqueda automtica.
PASO4 Presione el mismo botn de [APARATO]
para almacenar el cdigo. El indicador LED
del aparato parpadear dos veces para
confirmar que el cdigo se ha almacenado.

E. Identificacin del cdigo de 3 dgitos programado para un aparato

PASO1 Presione simultneamente el correspondiente
botn [APARATO] y [OK/SEL] durante
3 segundos. El indicador LED se encender
durante 30 segundos. El siguiente paso debe
realizarse mientras el indicador LED est
encendido.
PASO2 Presione el botn [INFO]. El indicador LED
del aparato parpadear un nmero de
veces para indicar el nmero de cada dgito
del cdigo. Cada dgito est separado por un
intervalo de un segundo durante el cual el
indicador LED se apagar.
Ejemplo : Un parpadeo, (pausa) tres parpadeos,
(pausa) ocho parpadeos indican el nmero
del cdigo 138.
*Nota: Diez parpadeos indican el nmero 0.

F. Programacin del aparato AUX

Usted puede aprovechar la funcin AUX para programar
aparatos tales como computadoras, consolas de
videojuegos o receptor de radio satelital. Siga las
instrucciones en la seccin C para programar un
aparato AUX. AUX para un segundo televisor, VCR y
para un DVD. Para ello, siga las siguientes instrucciones:
PASO1 Encienda el quinto aparato que desee
programar (TV, VCR, DVD, etc.).
PASO2 Presione simultneamente los botones
[AUX] y [OK/SEL] durante 3 segundos. El
indicador LED del aparato [AUX] se
encender durante 30 segundos.
PASO3 Presione el botn de [APARATO] para el tipo
de aparato que desee configurar. Apunte el
control remoto hacia el equipo e ingrese el
cdigo de tres dgitos que se asigna a su marca.
*Nota: Para programar un segundo TV presione TV, etc.
PASO4 Cuando el equipo se apague verifique que
usted ha seleccionado el cdigo correcto
presionando el botn [POWER]. El equipo
deber encenderse nuevamente. Luego
intente todas las funciones del control remoto
(por ejemplo: volumen, silencio, etc.) para

asegurarse de que ingres el cdigo correcto.

Si alguna de las funciones no funciona
como es debido, ingrese el cdigo de tres
dgitos del listado de marcas.
PASO5 Una vez que usted haya encontrado el cdigo
de tres dgitos correcto, gurdelo presionando
el botn [AUX] una vez ms. El indicador LED
de [AUX] parpadear dos veces para confirmar
que el cdigo se ha almacenado.

G. Programacin del botn de encendido o apagado del sistema

Esto le permite programar el botn de encendido o
apagado del sistema para que pueda enviar hasta cinco
rdenes de encendido o apagado con solamente
presionar un botn.
PASO1 Presione el botn [CBL].
PASO2 Presione simultneamente los botones
[SYSTEM ON/OFF] y [OK/SEL] durante
3 segundos. El botn [CBL] se encender
durante 30 segundos.
PASO3 Presione el primer botn de [APARATO] cuyo
encendido y apagado usted desee almacenar
en el botn [SYSTEM ON/OFF] y luego presione
[POWER]. Repita esto por cada uno de los
componentes que usted desee encender y
apagar con el botn [SYSTEM ON/OFF].
PASO4 Presione el botn [CH5] para almacenar las
rdenes de encendido que usted almacen.
El botn [CBL] parpadear dos veces para
confirmarque las rdenes han sido guardadas.

H. Programacin del control de volumen

Los controles de Volumen y Silencio vienen programados
de fbrica para que transfieran en forma automtica al
respectivo modo del aparato que usted seleccione de
la siguiente manera:
CBL :TV
T V : TV
VCR : TV
DVD : TV
AUX : AUX
Si usted desea almacenar el control de volumen
de Decodificacion de cable en modo CBL, utilice los
siguientes pasos.
PASO1 Presione simultneamente los botones
[OK/SEL] y [CBL] durante 3 segundos. El
indicador LED se encender durante 30 segundos.
El siguiente paso debe realizarse mientras el
indicador LED est encendido.
PASO2 Presione el botn [VOL5]. El indicador LED
parpadear.
PASO3 Presione el botn [CBL]. El indicador LED
parpadear dos veces para confirmar la
programacin.
*Nota: Para que el aparato retorne al modo de volumen
TV repita los pasos antes mencionados
reemplazando [CBL] por [TV] en el Paso 3.

I. Programacin del control de canales

Usted puede programar los controles de canal (Desplazar
hacia arriba o hacia abajo, ltimo canal y nmeros de
canal) de un aparato para operar en el modo de otro
aparato. La configuracin de fbrica del control de canales
en el control remoto es la siguiente:
CBL : CBL T V : CBL
VCR : CBL
DVD : DVD AUX : AUX
Si usted desea almacenar los controles de canal de TV en
modo TV, siga los siguientes pasos.
PASO1 Presione simultneamente los botones
[OK/SEL] y [TV] durante 3 segundos. El

indicador LED del aparato se encender

durante 30 segundos. El siguiente paso debe
realizarse mientras el indicador LED est
encendido.
PASO2 Presione el botn [VOL6]. El indicador LED
parpadear.
PASO3 Presione el botn [TV]. El indicador LED
oscilar dos veces para confirmar la
programacin.
*Nota: Para que el aparato de TV retorne al modo de
canal CBL repita los pasos antes mencionados
reemplazando [TV] por [CBL] en el Paso 3.

J. Programacin del botn Macro

Si el modelo de su control remoto ha sido habilitado con
botones Macro personalizables (vase Seccin 4), estos
pueden programarse para operar como botn Macro o
Canal Favorito en modo CABLE. Esto le permite programar
hasta cinco canales de dos dgitos, cuatro canales de tres
dgitos y tres canales de cuatro dgitos a los que podr
acceder con solamente presionar un botn.
PASO1 Presione el botn [CBL] para seleccionar el
modo CBL.
PASO2 Presione simultneamente los botones [MACRO]
y [OK/SEL] durante 3 segundos. El botn [CBL] se
encender durante 30 segundos.
PASO3 Ingrese el cdigo de 2, 3 4 dgitos para el
canal que usted desee programar primero
(por ejemplo: 007) utilizando el teclado numrico,
despus presione el botn [STOP]. Despus
ingrese el cdigo del siguiente canal (por
ejemplo: 050), luego presione el botn [STOP].
Repita este proceso para el tercer canal. El
botn [CBL] parpadear una vez por cada
canal ingresado.
PASO4 Presione el botn [CH5] para almacenar los
canales seleccionados. El botn [CBL]
parpadear dos veces para confirmar que
las rdenes han sido guardadas.
Para tener acceso a los canales programados, presione el
botn [MACRO] una vez. Esto har aparecer el primer
canal. Presione nuevamente el botn [MACRO] y
aparecer el segundo canal. Presione nuevamente el
botn [MACRO] y aparecer el tercer canal.

K. Advertencia de batera baja

Cuando las bateras estn bajas y requieran ser cambiadas
con bateras cargadas, las luces del indicador LED del
aparato parpadearn 2 veces en secuencia siempre que se
presione el botn [POWER] para encender el equipo.

L. Sistema de cierre de memoria

Este control remoto est diseado para retener la
memoria programada hasta por 10 aos, aun cuando
las bateras sean retiradas del control remoto.
