Introduction (5 minutes):
Go over vocab if necessary. Begin with what consumption
is. Reference PowerPoint and Black Friday. Today we are
going to talk about consumption in the United States.

Demonstration (15 minutes)

I will have a PowerPoint up going through consumption,
leaving places for students to volunteer. When we talk
about Black Friday, I will ask students if they went out
shopping if so was it chaotic? I will share my stories for
shopping. We will talk about Black Friday and why they
think it is such a big deal. I will play two videos of Black
Friday chaos. I will show them Black Friday Statistics.

Participation (15 minutes)

I want you to take the book out from under your desk and
turn to page 107.
I want you to look at the graphic organizer at the bottom of
the page and think about how American consumption
affects other places. We will talk about why students think
America affects other places? Where do we get most of our
goods?

Practice (20 minutes)

We will go over a T-chart as a class comparing developed
and developing countries. This will get students thinking
and participating.
After we will go over as a class
characteristics of developed and developing countries
After the lesson, students will complete the exit
