ZentyalServertoactasagatewayinavery
commonscenario.Zentyalwillprovidebasic
networkinfrastructure,loadbalancingbetween
twoInternetproviders,firewallandHTTPproxy
cachingandcontentfiltering.Allthesestepsare
wellexplainedintheZentyalDocumentation,
whichisareallyrecommendedreading.The

ZentyalrunsontopofUbuntuServersoitwillworkonthesamehardware.Youcantakealookatthe
Ubuntucertifiedhardwarepageformoreinformation.TherearetwowaystoinstallZentyal:
UsingZentyalinstallerthatyoucandownloadfromtheprojectwebsite.Thisistherecommended
choice,itincludesallpackagedependenciesforofflineinstallandalsomakessomecustom
configuration.
InstallontopofaworkingUbuntuServer,youcanfinddetailedinfoandURLfortherepositoryinthe
ZentyalInstallationGuide.

IfyouinstallZentyalusingtheinstalleryouwillseethisscreenwhenbootingfromCDROManda
coupleofwizardswillguideyouthroughtheprocess.Youcanchoosedefaultsettingsinallofthem.
Zentyalprovidesawebadministrationinterface,aftertheinstallationaFirefoxbrowserwillshowup
givingyouaccesstoit(youcanalsoaccessZentyalfromanyclientbrowsertyping:
https://zentyal_server_ip).Userandpasswordarethesameyouenteredduringinstallation.

Nowyoucanselectthedesiredpackagestoinstall,forthistutorialyoushouldinstalltheGateway
package.LaterDHCPandDNSmoduleswillalsobeinstalledbyusingtheSoftwareManagement
module.
