Education is the key to eliminating gender inequality, to reducing poverty, to creating a

sustainable planet, to preventing needless deaths and illness, and to fostering peace. And in a
knowledge economy, education is the new currency by which nations maintain economic
competitiveness and global prosperity.
Education is an investment, and one of the most critical investments we can make. This is true
not only for one State, but for countries around the world.

Nelson Mandela is one of the most popular figures of the late 20th and early 21st centuries; he is
an anti-apartheid revolutionary from South Africa, and was the first black person to become
President of South Africa. He has been imprisoned for his beliefs and courage to speak up
against corruption and violence, against racism and poverty, and is still a central figure in
worldwide peoples rights movements. The message is quite straightforward, but lets take a
closer look at it, for arguments sake. Numerous other historical figures and authors have pleaded
the importance of education, and even in times when the social ladder was something to be taken
seriously, there were those who advocated everyones rights to an education, especially for those
in lower strata of society, for the poor and the meek. Thus, if everyone has access to education,
if everyone learns how to write and read, thus acquiring the means to even educate themselves,
the world cant but change for the better.
In many instances, wrongdoings or evil manifestations stem from ignorance and fear, and these
two dangerous factors can be eliminated through education. People without education are much
easier to manipulate by ill-meaning leaders, and they immediately believe anything they are
told: the prettier the words sound, the more they believe in them, only to be disappointed later
on.
Terrorism in the world is like a cancer and is damaging the roots of the system. This evil can not
be cured by wars, killings , bombing or putting people behind the bars as we can see examples
from history but only through education. It is the only permanent solution for all the restlessness
in the world. By changing the mind we can change the world and this is only possible by
educating people. Education has always been used as an instrument in the growth of science and
technology. It has carried noticeable changes in every phase of mens life. It is education only
which gives a support of confidence to the people to take initiative in the development process of
the society. The difference between a society with education and without it can be easily
understood. From ages, education has been valued more than money. It is said that, if a man is
educated, then he can win any war. But the quality of education is poor and thats why we are
unable to eat the fruit of this blessing. There is a need to improve the education system to
eradicate all the problems prevailing in Pakistan. The change which the nation is demanding cant
be achievable by protesting and jalsas but through educating ourself.
