Word study is such a vitally important aspect of Language Arts that I feel is
often overlooked! Using a consistent schedule of word study in your
classroom can help improve your students reading, writing, spelling, and
general word knowledge. Boggle Your Mind! is just one fun way to do that!

Directions
Using skinny masking tape, ribbon, or even just dry erase marker, create a 4x4
grid on your dry erase board, wall, or bulletin board. You can use any type of
letters that you prefer. Each day (or each week,
whatever your word study schedule dictates), use the
letters to create a Boggle board.
Each student will need 1/2 of the Boggle Your Mind
page included. First, they will copy the letters from the
board onto their sheet. Then they have to find words!
They can use any letters that touch the letter before it,
vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. For example, on the board above, I could
make the word CHANGES.

Differentiation
Boggle Your Mind! lends itself perfectly to differentiating for all of your
students! For example: Student A may only be required to find 10 words,
instead of all 16, because that is appropriately challenging for him. Student B
may be required to find all 16 words, and all words that are 3 letters or more,
just as the directions suggest. Student C may not only find all 16 words, but 8
of them may have to be 4 or more letters!

boggle your mind

Use the letters you are given to find words on the Boggle board. Your words must be at least
3 letters long, and can be made by using any letters that are touching. If you need more
space, continue on the back!
